Its the man that does all the work.

(its bad form to ask a girl to go on top the first time, chivalry isn't dead yet)

Especially if she is a lot heavier than you. :P
Or to tie a knot in the condom after!

I usually get her to wrap it up in a baby wipe and throw it in the bin. I actually never thought of tying a knot in it. That'll save a fortune on wipes.

    So you're having an affair?????????????????

Ahh jesus SS, you completely missed the point because all you're thinking about is the end goal!

Not once in my post did I mention sex, which would be one of the understood characteristics of an affair. Do you consider sex to be an understood characteristic of a date?

Perhaps that's where you're going wrong - instead of just enjoying another person's company, are you thinking how much it's costing you for sex?

Can someone tell me why that on a date, a man is the one who's expected to pay, drive, etc?
Is he? First I've heard of it being the case in 2013. Put away those 1950s American diner movies.
because women are as tight as a bodybuilders t-shirt, especially irish women
Aw... the mask slips. Few days ago you were looking for advice on how to meet a woman and you think women are great yadda yadda. :)

I'd say Irish women are less traditional about this than most nationalities around the world in my experience.

I agree. I have dated a few Eastern European women and I nearly always ended up paying for meals, drinks etc. They tend to be more old fashioned. I find Irish women are more likely to pay their own way.

If I ask someone out on a date or whatever I expect to pay. As I've asked them out.

First they came for the socialists...

You think you have it bad here? Try being a young man in China. Without a lot of money, it's bachelorhood for you.
The country's inexorable economic rise has put marriage out of reach for many men.

These days grooms are expected to provide a car, a good salary and real estate.

One young engineer I met in a Beijing park, Zhang Junfrei, told me that he would have to save up for 200 years to afford a one-bedroom apartment - and that is without eating or drinking.

Government resting upon the will and universal suffrage of the people has no anchorage except in the people's intelligence.

OP the idea is that you pay for the dinner, drinks etc and then they "owe" you something at the end of night ;)

The first one to say it for what it is. But now my question for you is... aren't they getting something out of that two???

srm23 isn't the first one to "say it for what it is" SS, gobshìtes have been espousing that particular point of view for centuries as an excuse for their lack of social skills!

OP, I haven't decided if you're a troll or not but you're on thin ice here with these sh*tty "I can't get laid so women are crap" threads, any more crap and you'll be looking for advice somewhere else for a while.

    Charming.

(There's a certain irony in you SS in particular asking someone else to make up their mind)

I get the feeling OP that if you got a date you'd have no problem digging deep!

Now now, nobody likes a person who prowls old posts :pac:

Personally, I've never dated an Irish girl who was mean. If I got dinner, they'd get drinks; if it was drinks only, they'd do rounds, too; if it was a gig/concert date, I'd get tickets, they'd get beers and/or taxis. Always worked out grand.

Regarding what another poster said about anal... hmmmm.... not sure if that could be considered 'paying their way'...

No prowling by me - he was posting over and over about wanting to meet women on that recent thread about meeting people through Boards

I ask women out to dinner, pretend I'm going to the toilet and leave without paying.

    Women love a bastard.

Ahh the auld dine and dash. It's even better when the woman goes along with it though, unless you don't like her and just want to make a quick getaway.

If you are the guy and ask the girl out for the date, then I thinks its only fair that you pay because you asked her to go out. The lady could pay for the next meal if she wants to keep it fair

Meh not really. Some women wouldn't be comfortable with you paying as they might think you're expecting something in return.

I've dated a few Spanish guys before meeting the one I'm with and they've insisted on paying for dinner...until I insisted even more that I wanted to go halves. I've always gone halves (or a "I get this one, you get the next one" setup) and I think it's only fair. Perhaps it was reasonable when men were the bread winners but now there's no excuse when both genders are working.

and so they should given the part they played in the Irish defeat in the battle of kinsale in 1602:pac:

What happens if two lesbians go on a date?, nobody pays?

they don't usually go to restaurants to eat out, they just take turns at home squashing each other's fanny.

I expect the guy to pay on the first date (if it goes well!!) - says a lot about him. Am happy to pay my way after that!

For example, I went on a dinner date with a mate the other night, she picked me up at my place and drove us to a nice restaurant for dinner, she paid for the dinner. Then we drove back into town and she parked her car at my place, we went to the club, I paid the admission for both of us and we went rounds on the drinks. After the club we went back to my place, had coffee and a chat and crashed out in the bed. She had work in the morning so she stayed over and then went from my place to work and collected her car that evening.

Would you honestly call that a date though, I don't think I've ever heard anybody describe meeting a platonic friend as a date

By that logic I have been dating my brother  and my OH is dating all her female friends!

Should not be expected. If it first date or you asked all depends. Should it matter. Offer maybe but think bill or driving or meet up or date be split in terms of costs. If you pay then he or she pay next time take in turns if things go well. Paying or not Shouldnt change impression or be expecting something after as you dont know how a date go or end. Could take few dates to find out.

Iv had dates but mostly platonic only a few little more.
