Your 1st post just sounded like it was ok to shoot people but don't kill them.
Nah it didn't in the slightest.

There are a lot more firearms available in Ireland than shotguns. Even the famous 'military grade, high powered, rapid fire assault weapon' known as the AR-15 and its derivatives.

So where do I go about buying an AR-15 in Ireland? My job has a bit of a rat problem at the moment!

And where would that be, sorry I don't know of any gun shops in Ireland (I'm not denying they are there btw). It's just I've never known anyone or even heard of anyone using one, be it in crime or for leisure!

Depends where you are, not all dealers trade in the more exotic stuff.

So where is Dublin could a guy go to buy an AR-15? I know of one guy who owns a .22 rifle, but that's about it.

Dealers who at a guess could get you one are Courtlough in Balbriggan, Sportsden over in Navan, Crescent Sports in Monkstown, Harbour Guns in Athy, others too probably. I know my own dealer in Wicklow trades in restricted firearms too.

So very wrong, Ireland does not have a gun culture. An exercise in proving this would be to ask anyone on the street where is the nearest gun shop is! Another good exercise would be to ask your typical civilian to explain various different types of guns or ammo. Your constant reminder to various posters on boards telling them they don't know what thier talking about when coming to guns also confirms the lack of gun culture in Ireland.

Yet every day on boards various styles of firearm replicas are bought and sold. Airsoft seems pretty popular, I'd call that a gun culture for one.

The numbers I posted are civilian licences, so exclude police or military.

What has this to do with Chicago?

So i couldn't walk into Tesco or Dunnes and buy one? Maybe you know of a gun show or two where i might be able to buy one over the counter without checks?

Shootings happen every single day in America. This is nothing new.
