Besides, Islam is not a race. It's a religion. You can't change your race, but you can change your religion. So, calling Islam a divisive delusion is not discrimination, because people can escape if they want to.

Government resting upon the will and universal suffrage of the people has no anchorage except in the people's intelligence.

Unfortunately he's right though. This was a disgusting event and we have to realize and question why it's not being labelled as a horrible sectarian attack in the Western media as it would be if Christians did this to Muslims (which I don't condone in the least).

We have become so politically correct that we cannot label things for what they are - these animals who did this should be labelled as such and ripped to pieces in the Western media.

Have you been keeping up with East African geopolitics for the last couple of decades?

No - but I fail to see how that makes me not supposed to be absolutely revolted by the incident in question.

    Who's not revolted?

I'm glad it's not just being portrayed as a "Ooh, nasty Muslims don't like Christians" thing. Yet at least. While these conflicts often end up manifesting themselves on a small-scale in sectarian and racist ways, it's generally not the root cause. I'm just very tired of certain people trying to make everything into a "bloody lefties" thing, and I hate lefties. :pac:

As it happens I've noticed things aren't being portrayed a little bit more greyly since the west started supporting those guys in Syria who were apparently the bad guys a decade ago. Funny that.

terrible scenes of innocent people being massacred in a shopping mall..........why?

because they're not muslims, that seems to be the case anyway.

    will it happen here eventually?

Why would an African group come here and shoot up a supermarket?

    Something about Muslims?

O I'd imagine so, given the OP's fixation. Doubtless after they've banned pork, stout and craic, they'll take to shooting up the place for amusement. It's what they do, so I'm told.

The sad fact is that terrorism, along with its pointless violence works, in the long run.

    You're dead right.

But we still have to fight it.

....odd you don't pick up the OP's rather low bit of xenophobia "will it happen here eventually?", or take them to task over using a tragedy to further their agenda.

Odd that you said nothing negative about the people who carried out the attack, rather than attack someone who,as far as we know, hasn't murdered anyone on account of their religion.
As for the future ? who knows, bet the poor innocent civilians in Nairobi didn't see anything in the tea leaves either.

Well Al-Shabaab actually did say they were going to carry out attacks further into Kenya.

    .

...well, we can only hope that fear mongering doesn't lead to anything like that here.

This ideology is sick. It is doomed to fail as most people are decent and will never support murdering innocent people.

...I'm sure some of them are. There are also people who want to bring back hanging, ban condoms and ban all porn. I'd say they've a better chance than the Sharia lot.

No, I think that the danger of extremism should be countered with the danger of demonisation borne in mind.

While we don't have to look to far to find senseless sectarian violence the mujahadeen's logic seems to be on whole different level of crazy.
Their aim seems to be to bring society back to a vindictive feudal state ruled by fear and superstition.

I don't read the Daily Mail. I just listen to the stories of people from where I grew up. So get your facts right.

....not far off. Some idealised caliphate that never actually existed. Never happen.

To the poster who said who cares they're only black, there is clearly white victims in the scenes of the aftermath so don't know where you're getting that from.

Yes, but those demanding Sharia Law in our countries are immigrants or the children of immigrants. If I went to Saudi and started demanding Western traditions and laws be imposed unknown what would happen. There is no point arguing with you though because you'll keep nitpicking

TBH I cant think of a country in Europe that has reputable sources indicating that is a known problem of citizens damanding sharia.
