Team value probably the best indicator, as if you were to Wildcard you' probably have a few keepers who have gained value, maybe Coleman, Mignolet etc. So even if your total bank will all players cleaned out in 100.3 you could afford a new team of probably 1m more if you were wildcarding as you could get on a few risers etc.

My team value is 102.9 and my locked in cash value is 101.2.

Team value means little really though as players who have risen in my squad are likely to stay in my team even if I was to wildcard this week. Like Mignolet won't be going anywhere, or Benteke for example. I guess I'll make a few quid off Giroud though as i'm planning on shopping him out for Suarez soon

Quite happy with this.. My only slight concern is Vidic at the back up against City.. Really hope he maintains his clean sheet bonus or at least clocks up 3BP if he doesn't.. Happy with the rest

Everybody and their mother has Mignolet in goal.. I kind of want to change that myself in the coming weeks but I reckon it would require too much reshuffling without a wildcard :/ We'll see.. Dawson is getting dropped soon as well

Also looking at getting Rooney in some time soon unless Soldado picks up form.. Need 0.2 more for that

7 players away from home but a very good team to be fair. Vidic(or any defender) has very little chance of the 3bp's without the clean sheet bonus.
Now that you have him you shouldn't be looking to get Walker out until(or if) he loses his place, I think he will but it could be in 4 or 5 weeks.

My team for this weekend. I'm hoping Brady makes it. Just noticed I've 8 players at home which is a good omen.

7 here, and my 3 Spurs lads and Fellaini

    Whats the thinking behind Fellaini?

Waste of money IMO, many better options out there.

Set pieces, knock downs, scaldy assists off his hole

Still fancy him to get 5-7 goals this season and the same in assists

    That'll do me

    We'll see I guess,

I wouldnt price Fellaini any higher than 7m tbh. His price is inflated based on last season as a second striker for alot of it.

I'd play Nastasic ahead of Vidic. Its a 50/50 game so I'd always tend to favour the home player in that situation. Just a personal preference of mine.

Right having sat up all night (not really) I could also go with Option B+with Rooney...

    Mignolet , Wilson
    Ferdinand, Collins ,Clyne, Dawson, Coleman
Walcott, Michu, Erikson, Ben Arfa, Morrison
    Sturridge, Rooney, Giroud.

    This Wild Carding is exhausting!

Ya B is the better option, Rooney should be among the goals plus with the extra money can upgrade midfield.

Is Benteke->Rooney the best option to drop of the above as have the same strikeforce for my own wildcard team?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Quietly confident about this week. No points hit taken and 8 players at home. Also nobody that really worries me that I don't have, bar Giroud. Will be looking for a 2 pointer from him. Big games needed from Nolan and Ben Arfa.

It's a toss up between Benteke and Sturridge for the armband, the latter might shade it by having the home advantage, although going by the poll Benteke is a bit of a differential. I have eight players including my captain playing on Saturday - if I don't see a long line of green arrows on Sat night I'm in big trouble!

Am actually leaning back towards RVP myself, he'll have penalties (and Utd get plenty) and corners and a lot of FKs. Hes also a good Captain banker when the have a handy game. Rooney in form and playing aggressively will help him too. So I'm thinking RVP/cheap mid is better than Rooney/Ben Arfa.

I'm totally torn as to which 2 from Benteke, Giroud and Sturridge. Given I am sticking with Walcott long term it might be better sense to drop Giroud next week, but he's hard to let go of!

Will probably keep all three for this weekend and swap one to RVP before the MU v West Brom where he'll be Captain.

Will also probably 'rest' Walcott and keep Ramsay and Ben Arfa and they are bandwagons of the moment, before switching back to Walcott and best mid I can afford in maybe 3 weeks. This should be great news for current Walcott owners as he is more or less certain to go on a scoring rampage as soon as I do that.........

So WC team almost finally is:

    Mignolet , Wilson
    Ferdinand, Collins ,Clyne, Dawson, Coleman
Ramsay, Michu, Erikson, Ben Arfa, Morrison
    Sturridge, Benteke, Giroud.

    GW6 - Giroud>RVP
    GW8 - Ben Arfa & Ramsay > Walcott and hopefully a 5m mid.

Thanks to all who have given me advice and I'm very much a rookie.

This is what I'm going with this week barring any last minute injuries etc

    30igw83.jpg

Captaincy isn't set yet but chances are I'll leave it on Giroud. I'm very happy with the team for this week, the only players that I'm really worried about not having is Ben Arfa or Studge. The hope is that Mickey Turner will make Benteke his b!tch for 90 odd minutes and that Redmond can match or better Barfa's returns.

No transfers so gives me 2 free to play with next week. I'm happy right now anyway but Soldado needs to impress and RVP needs to show who's top dog or Rooney may come in.

I'm watching three possible transfers next week:

    1. Whittaker out for Vidic. Hoping he'll get to 4.4 so I get 4.2 for him before I ship him.
    2. Nolan out for Moses or Redmond. I bought Nolan at 7 mil so I'll get 7.1 for him. His price drop to 7.2 didn't effect me but if he drops again I'll lose that .1 profit.
    3. RVP out for Rooney.

I've ranked those in order of importance because, even though his game is against City, I'm hoping RVP will show why exactly we're paying 14 million for him this weekend.

Not sure about Norwich to be honest. Apart from that looks ok to me.

My current team for this week, I have 0.4 left in the bank, and I am using my wildcard this week, any suggestions for improvements

Way too much duplication of teams. 2 Everton def, 2 Liverpool incl keeper. 3 arsenal attackers. If liv and Everton concede and arsenal don't score you'll have about 20 points.

i struggle to pick 3 people from any team, but then having 2 or more from the same team in the same positions is lunacy.

If it works out, then you;re laughing. If not (of which there is a much greater chance) then you;re screwed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭RossieMan

If you always worried about teams not scoring you'd always get 20 points.

That team looks solid enough to me, Although i wouldn't have Jagielka in there.

I think Redmond is someone people should look at having, just for No. 1 sub possibly.

Lead all of my main leagues but have backed myself into a corner with transfers for this week. Worth taking a hit this week? Considering dropping Van Persie for Roooney and Lampard for Michu.

Here we go. Silva currently on 75% chance playing, so its a case of who to have as first choice sub incase he doesn't. Thinking Sturridge as Captain.

At the moment Nolan is first choice to get the bullet next week. José Enrique is second choice due to Liverpools goal leak risk. 1.1 in the bank.

    Thoughts?

    Mignolet

    ---José Enrique----Dawson----Coleman----

    ---Silva---Ben Arfa---Ramsey---Paulinho---

    Benteke
    Giroud
    Sturridge

    Subs

    Boruc

    Whittaker
    Nolan
    Shawcross

I think van Persie, is too expensive, I would drop him and strengthen the midfield

Silva will play, apparently, not sure if he starts though.
I'm going with 5 at the back this week, lap up all the BPs

Final wildcarded team. Phew. Any thoughts, llate switch of Giroud to Lukaku, that's my punt.

    Mignolet. (Lewis)
    Dawson, Ferdinand, Coleman (Collins, Chester)
Walcott, Moses, Ben Arfa, Erikson (Ramsay)
    Lukaku, Benteke, Sturridge.

Only worry is having to play Ferdinand in the derby, but after that his clean sheet potential is great, it was either him or Merts.

5.1m in bank = RVP coming in next week.

Tam value went from 102.4 to 103.1 over the week.

My first time ever doing an FPL wildcard, am bloody wrecked after it!
