Right I called about one with a tan coloured roof.

The roof is knackered and at the very least needs to be repaired. It hasn't had an NCT in two year. It's had work from TI autos including clutch and belts about two years ago although the receipts are missing.

The ad states 1600..........is it even worth 600?

Actually don't bother answering that, I've just spoken to Gerry in Ti Autos and I'm not bothered.

No nct on an alfa for 2 years...not a hope of it being worth more than 600.
probably needs a belt, brake work etc,
along with a new roof, definitely will need suspension work and if the roofs knackered chances are it reaks of damp.

Judging by the amount of work required I wouldn't offer more than 500 for it.
That's all it's worth in scrap anyway.

The ****ing traffic, almost an hour and 20 minutes to get in this morning, then decided to take the tunnel home.

Some ****ing gimp went into the coins only lane with no chuffing coins

    GIMP!

Early 2009. Last nctd in 2011 and no tax since, could tell when it was last insured as the date was folded over. Its still driven occasionally though......

Anyway it needs a new roof, full service and belt change, coolant and 4 new tyres. Bushings are also knocking slightly. It has a few scuffs around it, needs a dam good clean too and general tlc.

I made an offer and told him to think about it.

No at Merrion Square, I had an ambulance driving the wrong way down the road, and doing a right hand turn with lights but no siren.

In more positive news, I got an interview for a job I'm interested in.

I once worked in a place where we had offices in Canada and Florida, one of the Canadians came over, and me and another colleague took him on a tour of Dublin for an ENTIRE day, and out to dinner.

When we then visited Canada, the scabby gimp didn't so much as buy us a cup of coffee.

    Ever since I dislike Canadians.

When I visited Florida, they took me to a lapdancing bar as it was their Friday treat to themselves

There are regional variations in Canada much like the USA. I can safely say that if I can avoid ever having to spend time working with monotone, droning on midwestern Americans again I'll be much happier. They joke about being in the flyover states but underlying it all recognising that the term is used for a reason. My god, you could sleep through a meeting with the even tones and lack of emotion.

Well overdue then. As its the 2L twin spark the belt is more expensive than the smaller engined twin sparks due to the balancing belt. You'd need to do the pump as well. When bushings need doing its nearly better to do the parts as well (eg if the arb bushing goes you may as well replace the whole arb as its a bitch of a job and you don't want to be doing it again in 3 months time when the arb needs replacing)

I hope it was a cheeky offer at that!:D

The running costs on one of them must be astronomical, especially with your mileage Max :)

Ah yeah I would probably have to get a second runaround car, but I fully intend on buying an e60 m5 in the next 12-18 months.

You think they are allowing you a bit more when you battle but they get you somewhere else anyway :(
