2 million biker 'march' denied no stop drive through permit

So 2 million bikers have been denied a permit to ride non stop through Washington.

Naturally screams of bias through the media, but was Washington right to deny the permit. Personally I can see no reason not to wave them through a designated route.

What's the big deal? They've not been denied the right to drive through the city, they've merely been refused permission to ignore red lights and other usual road traffic directions.

They're in the United States, a place with hundreds of undisturbed miles of Highways that they could ride for a clear route. This is for a parade, there have been worse reasons traffic has been diverted. It would be quite impressive to see 2 million bikes ride through a single city.

Some of them have been riding for days from where they live to get to Washington in time. Was watching a video of them riding earlier , looked really cool.

I was with them, right up until they mentioned Hardlys, then they lost me.

They look nice, but just can’t get beyond Victory’s snowmobile/ATV roots (and if memory serve me correctly Michael Andretti had one of the first dealerships locally). But after a long hiatus of some 60 years, Indian has made a comeback. Now that’s exciting!
