They should invent soundproof boxes for babies to sleep in at night. You'd need a little section to put their rations in and so on but that's workable.

Obviously there'd be air-holes in the box.

Can't say I'm a good sleeper... got issues with it for years now.

    I look like a raccoon 24/7.

    5 & a half to 6 hours usually

Maybe 7 at most at weekends

5-6 hrs usually, long as I have one lie in a week I'm grand. The times I do get 8 or more hours sleep I actually feel more tired the next day for some reason. Power naps are good too, usually have one before I'd go out on a Saturday night but you run the risk of a nap turning into a sleep and then not wanting to get back up and head out.

Had a while where I only needed 2-3 hours a night. Now I get a good 5-6 hours. Heard that 8 hours wasn't good for you and that recommended amount of sleep was 4-8 hours

When people say they sleep only 4, 5, 6 hours a night I remember what I read in The Promise Of Sleep by William C Dement. You can do it for a few nights, but if you run up a sleep deficit of about thirty hours (by getting less than about 8.5 hours a night) you have to make up the difference by sleeping more. The bigger the deficit, the worse you feel, and you will fall asleep very quickly.

Try a sleep deficit of 30+ hours by getting 4 hours a night for 7 days (8.5-4.0) x 7 = 31.5. But you need someone else to do the recording for it to be believable.

Of course people think they only sleep for 4,5,6 hours. How is it recorded?

It is dangerous to have a sleep deficit. You can easily fall asleep while driving, not good for you, not good for others.

I normally aim to take a good solid 6 or 7, and have been taking them far deeper than normal lately.

Two cats running the stairs all night and a gf who's on a ridiculous shift and who's alarm goes off at 3.35am, so no :pac:

Cats? Sacrificing sleep for some ****ing cats? You must be mental. Put them outside.

I love my sleep. The way I post often reflects how much sleep I've got.... :)

    I usually get 9-10hrs sleep :)

I get about 6-7 hours weekdays and 10 hours if I'm lucky at weekends, usually 8 though due to stupid body clock.

I find I'm wrecked all day but magically around 10-11pm I wake up and find it hard to convince myself to go to bed before midnight.

I try and get about 7 hours a night, though anything over 5 and I'm pretty much fine, prefer to get about 7 though. I wake up everyday about 7am and find it hard to go back to sleep, so if I don't go to bed around midnight, I know I probably won't get the full 7. On the other hand, my girlfriend can and has slept for 16 hours solid, and on one occassion, sleeping through her alarm meant she slept until 2pm - alarm was set for 9. I really envy that sometimes.

LOL - the last time I had 8.5 hours sleep (without drink taken) I was probably in my teens :)

Sleep 12 hours a day, die when you are 80 and you've only lived for 40 years

8 is such a waste, that's already 33% of your life wasted before you do anything else

Life is short enough as it is, I usually get 6, would settle for less but the stupid body gets grumpy when I get less than 5.

you will perform better and have a more enjoyable life if you get the amount of sleep you actually need.

although, i get between 5-7. usually about 9 at the weekends though.

used take me hours to get to sleep, but combination of work and exercise over the last 3-4 years means i get to sleep almost immediately now.

On a weekday when I'm not on holiday I'd get 2-4 hours. I have problems getting to sleep.

Same here, last night - asleep @ 3am up @ 8am and that was actually a good night. I miss the days I could just put head to pillow and be asleep within 5mins.

I'd prefer 40 happy alert years than 53 stressful dosy years.

Also don't forget all the amazing dreams you can have in your sleep.

Sleep is absolutely vital for mental and physical health.
I usually get at least 8 hours but I am fairly active for the other 16 so I need it.

8.5 weekdays, around 12 weekends. Sometimes I worry that if I didn't set my alarm or have something to do on a Saturday I'd never get up.:o
