The absolute worst forum behaviour is people composing about the behaviour if others and how they reply to threads/posts.

talking about road tax as if it exists

People who get their knickers in a twist when someone says road tax or slow/fast lane.

Posting cheesy titles to their fitness logs...they're the worst

    People who
    quote and respond
    line by line
Making the discussion into a boring pedantic private debate between them and the other poster. I think it should be banned.

While I perfectly understand the legal implications for Boards, should an open debate be allowed regarding our mobile brethren, it grinds my gears that it is another example of where they use some laws for their own benefit, while disregarding others.

People who can't wait to post 'RIP' when someone they've never met dies and says 'oh he/she will be missed' like they actually give a f*ck.

As soon as they post it they forget about it go about their day, but it's OK, they're a good person now as they've posted 'RIP'.

So is backseat moderating but no one seems to correct people who do it from what I've seen anyway.

    Pedanticism.

It's not being pedantic. Not one little bit.

Using the term 'road tax' is often a deliberate attempt at trolling.

When it's not trolling, usually it's an easy way to spot a bully. People who 'unwittingly' use the term do so as they believe it gives them greater priority on the road over say....cyclists "who don't pay road tax". This attitude is dangerous.

Any poster using the term 'road tax' with the sole aim of trolling OR as justification for cars having priority on the road, is a moron.

There are cases where it can be described as pedantic where a user may ask something like "how much is the road-tax on X car" but this is probably in 1% of cases.

nope... It's like calling PRSI the Dole tax
it's very clearly incorrect and generally used to subjugate the rights of other roads users who aren't motorists

It's probably more like the person who was being warned was annoying the others, so they are thankful that the mods are doing something about it.

Do people really think of mods like teachers?

Don't agree.People call it car tax because they associate it with their car.As in the common phrase "I have to tax the car"
If you did want to subjugate the rights of other road users you would probably call it road tax.

I can't abide people closing their accounts, only to reappear posting again in the same threads. It's a pain in the ar$e and as annoying as fuck once you realise you hare having the same discussion with the same person. Again.

Wibbs reminds me of a History/Geography teacher, with leather patches on the elbows of his geansaí; the sort you can always distract on chatty tangents for 40 minutes. :)

That explains occasional instances but he said any time they speak.

For me it's when someone starts a sh*t thread and artificially keeps it alive because they can't accept that it's a terrible thread.

When someone starts numerous threads on the same topic because someone hasn't replied to their first one after 10 minutes.

When people race to make sure they are the first to post a certain bit of news on boards.

Slow/fast lane is annoying because people who call it that, act accordingly. They don't seem to cop that the "fast lane" is for overtaking only and should not be used otherwise. They think the "slow lane" is for trucks doing limit minus 30 and avoid it, when it's actually the driving lane.
And that causes traffic jams and tailbacks where the 2 rightmost lanes of a motorway are packed and the driving lane is empty... and you can't legally use it to overtake the idiots.

Not to mention someone's story of encountering a woman who thought the entire driving lane was a merging lane and got very aggressive at the idea that he was driving in it!!
