    I've just the Tuesday off.

What are ye guys all talking about? The existence of what exactly?

It's a possible minor, minor spoiler:
They talk in the IGN video embedded in the hands-on linked earlier about a mission where you go to Grove Street. It's just a throwaway remark mind, but it seems to suggest that the street will exist in the game.

First thing I'm going to do is buy a drink and pour one out for the Grove Street O.G's:pac:

I said this already in another thread, but after all the compulsory introduction stuff, I'm gonna find me a Grove St, so that I can better representate myself on here.

... And I'll be avoiding all of it :P

I made a post in the 'when did you first play GTA' thread and it's brought back fond memories.

Does anyone else remember, when you first put on GTA 1, London and 2, at the very start, the camera would be overhead and it was 'fall/zoom' down on your character (to its default position) from a distance?

I think it also did it after you came back to life or got out of jail, etc.?

Anyway, during this, you'd hear a voice loudly saying 'Grand Theft Auto' or, in the case of London, a real hackney voice saying it.

It was a small thing but it just popped into my head there a second ago and I had forgotten all about it. Haha. The simple things. :)

That IGN video makes this sound epic. A week booked off.

Have little to no holiday hours left but seriously thinking of booking off the 17th for this, having to wait until Thursday night to play it sounds horrible, is everyone taking the day off? Please say yes even just to make me feel better :o

    Took a week :)

    Guys,

I just read here (No Spoilers)

That GTA V is bigger than GTA SA , IV and Red Dead combined. Thats about 50sq miles, it can't possibly be that big.

It would take ages to get from one place to another :P
You may have heard that Rockstar North has stated GTA V’s game world is going to be as big as GTA: San Andreas, GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption put together. GTA: San Andreas’ game world is 13.9 square miles, Grand Theft Auto IV’s Liberty City is 6.8 sq. miles and Red Dead Redemption is a sizeable 28 sq miles. So totally that’s just under 50 square miles. Fifty. That’s more than seven times bigger than GTA IV. That’s over twice the size of real-life Manhattan. Gulp.

I'm taking Tuesday off anyway, will probably put in a few hours with the game after I get it, a few hours kip and shut the blinds and mute the mobile for the day.

Only read the first page of the IGN article and about 6 mins of the video before I said I didnt want to know anymore - its better to wait at this stage!

Can't wait to hear all about Online today. Hope some important questions get answered like How does Passive Mode work??

jesus, we are talking serious revenue here aren't we....1.35 billion! Very few movies go over the billion mark and if they do, there is serious press about them. I still can't get my head around the scale of this game....im looking at maps of the other games and trying to establish exactly how big its going to be but the fact that you can be a few hundred feet in the air in a helicopter and be able to look around 365 degrees and have content all around you goes a long way to illustrate.

I didn't spend too long on GTA IV...didn't grab me like the others (Vice City being my favourite) but this one is going to be different. I love the whole angle of just jumping into any one of three different characters at any time.

    13 sleeps :D

Just listened to the Lazlow interview...best bit was when he said that when he heard that people would be in a car and love the radio so much, they would just drive up to the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean and just sit there...and he said when he heard that he felt "we won"...

    :D

I believe that they said the size includes interior areas and vertical height as well when these figures were first bandied about.

Oh, btw, I hate every single one of you who is taking time off. I loathe you with every fibre of my being. I'll be sitting in stuffy labs and lecture halls Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday cursing you all to hell.

    No offence. :P

Someone said that on here as fact but that certainly was never my reading of what they'd said.

I'll make you feel slightly better by saying that I'm off from this Saturday until the 25th. So I only get to have 1 week of uninterrupted play :(

This raises a curious point everyone...I also am not taking time off work to play this game. Aside from the fact that the wife would undoubtedly give me that "are you serious?" face...I need to hold onto days off as with two young kids having a days available to take off is always important. But it seems to be a very common thing on the thread..

Sorry for bringing reality into view there :-)

    *high five*

We'll start a support group thread on the 17th for those of us that can't play it. We'll just bitch about and mock those playing and try to convince ourselves it'll be better since we're waiting. :P

What could be better than sitting down playing GTA V on a day off work? :D
