Named after Edge's hardware shop in Fairview I think...the twat.
I thought it was because he had an angular head - I'm sure I read that somewhere.

He must really really really be consious of his baldness. No idea why he just doesn't shave it all off and be free of having to wear a poxy hat all the time.
I was in a church with my mate who was wearing a hat and the priest stopped him and told him to take it off.

So, what do you think? Is it disrespectful to wear your hat to someone's funeral or not?

Me, I wouldn't give two tugs of a dead dog's cock if someone wore a hat at my funeral

Quite frankly I'd be surprised if you were tugging ANY cock at your own funeral, unless you believe in reserection...

I'll get my coat wooly hat on the hat dog stand :o

Seriously, one of the greatest Irish poets of the 20th century dies and the mouths of the nation all they can flap their gums about is some has-been in a hat.

Some people really do have some fcuked up notions about the important things in life.

Bono's getting a bit thin on top too...probably the stress of tax avoidance.

I'm quite sure Seamus Heany didn't give a continental fck what Dave wore.
Would have been worth it to see him roll up on full clown makeup though, that would have sent poor auld Joe's listeners onto fits of diarrhoetic apoplexy!

I don't mind the lads too much. I saw them live in 85, 86 and 05. But I reckon they haven't made a decent album since "Passengers" and they didn't have the balls to put their name to it...

The first stanza of Tollund Man should do the trick.

"Some day I will go to Aarhus
    To see his peat-brown head,
The mild pods of his eye-lids,
    His pointed skin cap."

I'm sure Seamus Heaney wouldnt have given a shít if he wore a bonnet on his head at his funeral. But I suppose believers would say the feelings of the deceased are beside the point here, the funeral mass is all about celebrating the ressurection of Christ and showing respect in the house of God, or some such bollox. Pity Heaney didnt stay true to his actual beliefs and have a humanist funeral.

I think I noticed 10 or so people wearing shades as well. And that doesn't include those Bono type ones.

They were real Men in Black style. Now maybe they were blind or something, I do not know.

One woman had a pair perched on top of her hair. She was in a church not California. It may have been bright out bit she could have taken them down and had a bit of respect.

The whole thing reeked. You had a daft eulogy that the ordinary man wouldn't be allowed have at his own funeral. Big round of applause by the crowd. The Edge not having the decency to remove his hat and a heap of people wearing shades.

Possibly the greatest guitarist of all time attends a funeral. He could wear a phucking clown costume and the family would still be honoured.

No. why make this a big athiest argument. its just a sign of respect. thats why you take your hat off during the national anthem. Its just a sign of respect. nothing religious about it

What PRECISELY is disrespectful in keeping your hat on? Is it because the "Church" tell you it's so??

It's only a piece of cloth FFS, whether the person wearing it or not is a dickhead or a sound bloke.

The guitarist from possibly the most bland rock band in history showed up. im sure they were indifferent at best. just cause youre good at something isnt a licence to be a dick, wether people will let you away with it or not

Some people really have little to be worried about. A hat indoors, oh the humanity of it all.
