Yup, I think Borini will surprise a few.

I really hope so tbh. Seems like a good lad and obviously naturally talented but he's been really unlucky with injuries.

    Our next few fixtures are

    Swansea (A)
    Southampton (H)
    Sunderland (A)
    Crystal Palace (H)
    Newcastle (A)

Am i being ambitious in thinking that we could get 13 points out of a possible 15 from those games we have coming up? Is 15 points out of the question considering the start we have had?

Or am I away with the fairies?

If we get 10 from those I'll be satisfied, although more is possible of course. We could just as likely have a bit of a mare though and only pick up 4 or 5 points to deflate the bubble somewhat.

Watching the goal against united again and Agger has a right head on him. "That f'kn poacher just nabbed my goal!!!!"

Saw that too and loved it , our defenders are really attacking the ball in both boxes and only for the post the bar and Sturridge both Toure and Agger would have two goals apiece.

12 or more and I would be delighted, every match should be a must win and I hope the teams mental attitude suggests that after the break.

Or failing that he shows he's worth a few bob, maybe gets an Italy cap or 2 and we can sell him for at least the amount we paid for him.

I'd prefer to see him stay but if he doesn't show anything then I hope we get as close to what we paid for him as we can. Highly thought of in Italy. I reckon Roma wouldn't be long spending 10m to take him back.

Which game do you see Liverpool losing

That is the litmus test for him. He needs to stay fit. I was impressed with him at the tail end of last season and also for Italy.

    It's not that simple.

Over five or six games that all look guaranteed wins, chances are we'll lose one and draw one, even if our form is very good. Hard to pick which one because it's often down to how the teams feel on the day.

Otherwise City would win the league with 114 points this year.

Frankly I'd be looking at a full house for that run. Any points dropped would be disappointing. Swansea have been in and out so far, Soton looking less than expansive, Sunderland are a team that suggest they could collapse with a shove (anyone know if Borini will be allowed to play against LFC?), Palace have so many new players (ie just about everyone) its ridiculous and Newcastle are Newcastle.

If you take each game individually you'd probably say they are all games we should be winning. But winning all 5 in a row is a different prospect.

    Edit: What Gbear said

Impossible, they've lost to Cardiff, so 111 points.

Lets take it game by game lads, it seems easier :) Not 5 at a time.

In theory they could lose any of them. On paper Liverpool will be favourites for all of those games, but who knows. We haven't exactly been renowned for our decisiveness in recent years. I will be disappointed to lose any of them, but with football you can never tell. We might be doing well so far, but we are not one of the big hitters in terms of realistically thinking we will get 13/15 or better from those 5 games, with any real level of confidence anyhow.

We really need to be in great shape ahead of the City and Spurs away games in December as that marks when our season goes from the 'easier' on paper games to the more difficult ones in general, whereas before that, the big majority of the games were ones we should expect to win. I think we should be aiming to have 32+ points from the 15 games up to that point which would put us in a good position to hopefully keep the top 4 challenge going to the end.

Over the next six games, Swansea away is the only one that should cause us problems. Southampton are a solid side but we should be able to beat them with home advantage. Sunderland & Newcastle are two of the worst, sloppiest teams in the league, ill be disappointed if we don't beat them both. that leaves palace & hull at home, once again both should be won if we have any aspirations of top four. We should get minimum 14 points from the next 18, anything less would be a wasted opportunity to push on from our excellent start. I firmly believe 6 wins is possible, though at least one slip up has to be expected I guess. I don't think any team will have an easier run of fixtures this season than we do with those 6 games

Shelvey to get at least a yellow card for the Swansea game if he's fit. I can see him flying into tackles all over the place.

If we can convert a poor performance into a win or at worst a draw we'll be doing well. Kolo's untouchables Mark II

Can anyone else see Newcastle getting relegated this year or at least coming very close? They were reasonably lucky last year and the way the finished the season was very poor, particularly the hammering against us. Joe Kinnear isn't exactly helping things either and Pardew (that 8 year contract really was ridiculous) combined it's all a little messy at the moment isn't it? With no signings bar Remy it's hard to see them going much better than last season unless there's one or two brought in in January. That said, the potential is there and I'm probably way off.

But ya, we should bear them :) Swansea away will be the hardest I'd imagine and they're not exactly showing the same form as this time last season. Palace and Southampton might is a potential banana skin if they were away but I'd imagine it being a home fixture the win should come handy.

I know that they will take one game at a time. The one I would see as a banana skin would be swansea. After that Southampton at home needs to be a win then Luis is back and the other 3 teams are after having a poor enough start and have bought a lot of players apart from newcastle who have a poor record against liverpool.

Newcastle and WBA are my Relegation Candidates this season.

West Brom? Interesting choice but I won't disagree just yet, I'm listening :)

Almost every time last year on here when someone brought up what we should get from the next 5/6 matches etc we were disappointed, sometimes very badly so.

No match is easy in the league and tbh, we aren't exactly playing great stuff so I can't see how any of those matches would be easy.

Watching the United game again. Lucas spent a lot of the time fouling and giving away frees. He should be able to tackle better as a DM. No need to hack opponents down

We can swoop for Moussa Sissoko if they do.

    Buy all the Sissoko's!

Dunno but if they do I would love it. Absolutely love it ;)

    I can't stand Pardew.

I thought he was one of our best players on the day. He did give away fouls but broke up so much of Utds play it wasn't funny.

I know its difficult (and maybe it takes some of the fun out of it) but I'm now firmly of the opinion that we're better off taking it one game at a time.

Not an expert but from what I have seen and read Liverpool have played great stuff in the first halves of the games and sat back a bit in the second half.
