Im aware its far too late to even start worrying about trying to pre order now for day one release, one question though

If you buy direct from sony, how long do you reckon it would take now?

Hardly Normals in Cork took my preorder yesterday. Said they had only got around 10 POs in total, so should get one on release.

Retailers have to order them as well, and unless all they're doing is allocating already order stock you won't get one at launch.

    Thanks

not anymore no. they changed their message on their site. previously they said if you wanted it on launch they'd take your money up front. now the message says they can no longer guarantee launch delivery, yet will still deduct money straight away.

    http://www.sony.ie/hub/ps4-preorder

i ordered directly from sony, but that was on july 19, when the message on their page was guaranteeing a launch delivery.

Does anyone know if Gamestop are still taking pre-orders?
Obviously I won't get one on launch, but would like it around Christmas.

Also, was looking on Littlewoods website and they (or is it Sony?) seem to be saying that they'll likely supply consoles by Christmas.

That price is just taking the piss, €494.99 for a PS4 and Fifa, and they have the nerve to say you're saving €54.01.

Hope no one is getting taken in by them.

I hate littlewoods, a complete rip off in all regards. Wouldn't drop a fiver on that site.

Any sign of the Killzone PS4 bundle hitting Irish shores that's the only thing that will make me get a PS4 in the next 6 months.

No official confirmation of it yet coming here.

Asked in Gamestop as I made a payment(only 40e left to pay woohoo!) and they said they won't have a clear idea of what bundles will be available until around the start of November but that pre-orders would be able to upgrade.

My question is if they have a stock allocation set aside already, how many of the Kill zone bundles will be available?

Amazing how quickly this year has flown by, but I suspect the next three months will drag on.

Thinking of going through with pre-ordering a PS4 after debating it for a while, would I be better off going into Gamestop or waiting for HMV to reopen? Don't really mind not getting it at launch, although I'd prefer to get it before Christmas if possible

Was pre ordering watch dogs in gamestop wilton Cork today for my ps4 and asked about whats going to happen at release. He said they will be getting approx 200 ps4's at launch and number of pre-orders are well above that. There will be no midnight launch as that would cause hassle with people trying to chance their arm getting one. People will be txt if they are on the list and will be able to collect it on the morning of the 29th. If you were not txt you will not get one no matter what. 2nd batch looks like late december but he said if you haven't pre ordered now you probably have no chance in that particular shop anyway.

It's also in Wilton, with the exception of Tesco which is off to the side with an exit Wilton fully closes in the evening.

They open for midnight releases for big launches such as GTA V. They open the tesco shutters.

The Galway Gamestop isn't as it's inside a shopping centre, they've said so a while back at least.

I would have thought it was the same for Wilton but even if they've done it before I'm sure it was only the Patrick's St one that would be open.

I was in there today and asked them and was told there would be no midnight ps4 launch. I am just going with what I was told.

I'm pretty sure Gamestop Patrick St are having a midnight launch.
My strategy is I'm gonna treat the midnight launch like working a night shift, get up at 4 stay up all night then get up at 1 following day, cycle back to normal then and just carry on gaming :D
