The only useful function cats have in this world, is to provide us with a bountiful supply of entertaining gifs.

I like cats. Let's raise some money for cats.

I'm sure this thread will show you all how much I care about cats.

    Raise money for cats.

    Go!

I pledge 400 million Russian Krugerrand for cats.

Pledge money for cats or risk being seen as a cat hater you cat terrorists.

So what's it going to be? A or B?

    A. I like cats

    B. Terrorist

If you're not a terrorist you must donate to cats!

    All non-terrorists donate here!

    Yay!
Cats are amazing, I will gladly donate money to cats. Please post your debit card details and I will send the money to your account.

You got me thinking about their cognitive sophistication the other day

Over in the pets thread? Lol, yeah :D, it's amazing the cognitive sophistication people will attribute to cat behaviour; 'sneaky' - 'teasers' - 'plotting your demise' etc. They're cats FFS, they like to be fed and cared for!
I sees her with a live rat in her mouth and then she puts it down, only for it to run off so she can catch it again. After doing this a few times, the rat just gave up and stood there. "This won't do. It's not sporting if you won't even challenge me" thought the cat. So she proceeded to nudge the rat with her paw to encourage it to try to escape again, which it eventually did, only to be caught again and savagely killed.

I honestly feel sorry for the rat (and especially so for non-vermin cat victims) but the cat thought it was teaching you how to catch rats so you could survive. The cat was showing you love Mr. Topper Harley, Sir.

    Questions:
Who decides what cats benefit? Is this money earmarked for Irish tabbies or will it be wasted abroad on foreign scroungers like those African wildcats? How about disabled cats like the ones living on the Isle of Man?

Mark Twain has some wonderful quotes about the cat.

To quote one, 'Of all God's creatures there is only one that can not be made slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat'

I never thought of it that way. Either way I was grateful that she didn't let that rat bastard in the house. But I do feel sorry for it in the way he lived his last moments in terror. :(

To quote the wise Winston Churchill:
Dogs look up to you, cats look down on you. Give me a pig! He looks you in the eye and treats you as an equal.

I actually see that as a compliment to cats.

God, I love cats. I've only just remembered how awesome they are.

    But, yeah
This thread is harsh to a dude who is genuinely trying to do something decent for some poor family out there

    This thread is awful snarky.

Why this is wonderful, I had no idea there were similar minded people out there who have decided to get organised and become involved in the struggle. Tell me OP, where might I be able to make contact and join one of these cat terrorist movements?

I have found one of their training videos, but they have no link to get involved.:(

Great idea. Love cats but i probably prefer dogs though. How do you choose which cat benefits and why. I think we should just give one cat a cat bed. Lets just do it. Imagine its face when we give it a cat bed for it and its kittens until their put in the river. That cat will be astonished and we can all feel superior and great about ourselves.

This thread is still going strong while the threads to pledge money to buy a house for a deserving family have slipped off the front page. How soon we forget.

Cats are a*sholes. They think they are the master of humans.

Long live dogs, the true friend of humankind!!!

Now to find some cat terrorists to take out:

    Fivel (An American Story)
    Evil (Earthworm Jim)
    Garfield (....)
Hello Kitty (should be number one on the list)
    Pussyfoot (Looney Tunes)
Puss-In-Boots (Shrek 2 - wanted for bandit crimes)
    Rita (animaniacs)
    Sylvester The Cat (Looney Tunes)
    Top Cat (...)

Will leave Tom alone from 'Tom & Jerry', that mouse had it coming.

I have a feline that was more down to the idea being an impractical ego stroke.

Cats tortured my grandfather when he could no longer afford the tuna flakes they liked. He'd have been better off with those rats in his bedroom than that nightmare. Never again.

Such a beautiful proud animal, there's something about a cat. He can be sadistic and a cold blooded killer of course when it comes to natural prey but he always holds himself well. They'll take this cold stance with humans as well sometimes, unless you've made the effort with an older cat or raised one from a kitten, but believe me once you get to know one they are a wonderful loving pet who adore attention and affection, they'll amaze you at times with the things they pick up on. For instance both mine learned how to open my sitting room door by standing on the mantelpiece and jumping on the door handle. :pac:

Did you really have to put a picture of a cats hole on the thread.
