To be fair, I haven't play it enough to say that yet but I think I'll have to get another game just because like. Need something to occupy me on a 11 hour flight.
I have a few choices; monster hunter 3ds, tales of abyss 3ds, heroes of ruin (sounds boring though) and devil survivor overclocked (it's €50 though and I won't have time to get the cheapo option online).

What make is the TV? Samsung sets have a 'Game Mode' in one of the menus (think it isn't in the 'Picture' menu for some reason) which turns off all image processing.

Gamemode improved input lag but not whatever was making the weird pop up book effect. Nothing did, turned off everything, renamed inputs to PC, the whole lot. Very strange. Shame as the picture quality was unreal, really really good, just not when it was moving :o

Havent tried a console on it yet.
very impressed with it so far!

sorry to hear about yours Danonino!I hope mines ok
Whats the refresh rate on the tv?

It was a 100hz but I'm still not sure if thats actual 100hz or 50/60hz with Samsungs motion tech :) When I was back in the shop there was another guy complaining of the same effect (also a Samsung) which made me feel less mental :pac: I can only guess some people are sensitive to the LEDs flashing. I have eye strain all day, feels like when someone would catch you in the eye with a laser pen.

3 others watched the tv while it was here and I was the only one who got weirded out by it though.

Talking in the past tense because I swapped it for a 42in Panasonic and its gorgeous :D:D:D:D no price match but to be honest I don't care.
The Panasonic feels so solid, nice to get a tv made of Metal and glass. Glare is a fine trade off for motion methinks. Options are more limited and its not Full HD but lord its a nice watch. Happy days.

Hope yours is a great buy.

NES runs great, I was expecting the flickering blue screen but it runs every cart I've thrown at it so far. As for price ? Let's just say I only had to hand over one note and I couldn't get it out of my wallet quick enough !!! ;):D

Well done there, great to hear of a working example of the machine, rather than the box of crap I have!

After Kerbdog did some repair work on the Colecovision to fix the graphics issues, modifying the power switch but, unfortunately it alleviated the problems but didn't fix them all.
Apparently it's a ram issue where the geniuses back in 1982 decided to use graphics ram that looks for 3 different voltages to work, 5v 12v and -5v but the power isn't regularised enough and thus results in graphics glitches.
So I've ordered a pack of replacement chips that only need 5v to work and so are far more reliable.
Fingers crossed it'll do the trick.
I must order the av kit I've found on ebay as well, RF just doesn't cut the mustard at all.

Bought me a psp vita today.

It's a gorgeous bit of kit I have to say.

Have to look into what you get with playstation plus membership as 50quid seems quite expensive to me considering you don't need it to buy games. I assume you get extra content etc so will look in to that. I don't have a ps3 and won't be getting it or the ps4 on launch anyway.

140euro for the vita, an 8 gb card and metal gear collection.

    All boxed and hardly used.

Then again, you almost don't need to buy games with PS+ :D

    I don't get that.

After looking into it there I don't mind payin the 50quid once I don't get to the end of the 8gb of memory card then delete something and then not be able to get it back later.

I assume all games you've downloaded are held with your username so in theory you could have say 30 games but only 5 on your memory card.

Part of me wants to embrace the downloadable games thing for this device although I love physical boxes normally but there's something I don't trust about it.

    I don't get that.

Since PS+ started, here's the games members have been offered, free - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant_Game_Collection If you join now though, the back catalog isn't available to you, you only get from when you join onwards

Once you own it through PS+, it's tied to your account then so it can be safely deleted & redownloaded.

Indeed, you can delete & download as you please.

It's just pure value for money, nothing stopping you buying games once you're a PS+ member either :)

    Thanks for all that.

I think I'll bit the bullet so as I want uncharted for a start. Never played an uncharted game being a 360 owner.

Knowing me though I'll end up buying loads more games than normally would as they're at my fingertips!!

Ah well, some great ps1 content on there.

Do you have a PS3? Your plus account is cross platform meaning the same account gives you games for PS3, Vita & upcoming PS4. It's a fantastic incentive to pick up consoles too, as it throws games at you for consoles you don't own & before long you're thinking "Hmm must pick up a PS3"

Don't have a ps3 and probably won't pick it up at this stage. Will probably get a ps4 down the line though at some point.

Trying to download a game here and I keep getting "preparing to download please wait..." an won't go by this part. I just bought the plus membership too.

Will prob be worth picking up a PS3 at some stage, maybe when they come further down in price post-PS4 release. If I were you, I'd still 'buy' the PS3 games on offer through the Instant Game Collection, just incase you ever pick up a PS3 ;)

Can't help you there, the Playstation forum there maybe the PS+ thread would be the best place for advice.

yeah i'll do that in the mean time alright. Good idea, cheers.

On the other thing i formatted the memory card and that seems to have done the trick.

it was a second hand one so must have still thought i was the last user and then when i created an account it was causing a problem for whatever reason. Anyway sorted now.

Downloaded a few games on it earlier.

Of retro note.... mickeys wild adventure, which i've been meaning to get for some time now so thats one ticked off. Played a bit of it earlier, thought the gameplay was tight and the graphics didnt look out of place oddly enough.

    others include,

uncharted golden abyss, havent played it yet
gravity rush, havent played it yet
looking forward to both of those

urban trials freestyle, simple but i love it, reminds of a game on mousebreaker.com years ago, probably made by the same people.

stealth inc, havent played it yet
total recoil, havent played it yet

and lastly one that i think i'll get into, already kinda being dragged into it, new little kings story.

anyway thats my vita story so far. Lots of old playstation games i'll be giving a go of again on the neat little screen.

controls are class on this thing too. best handheld bar none, well maybe the ngpc!

For anyone sick of keeping their PCBs in the box they were delivered in, these are meant to be a really good solution. They look like giant versions of Neo Mini Boxes.

Back to the New Gets though, not retro, but I just got Rayman Legends delivered for my Wii U :D Can't wait to play it, been such a long wait!

    Ah crap!

So I bought these, had them shipped to parcel motel (postage to UK was free :))

And now the seller has contacted me saying that postage is only free to mainland UK - to Northern Ireland will cost £18!

I was under the impression that NI was considered part of the UK for all deliveries and that's the reason why Parcel Motel have a sorting office there?

i got stung for something similar,
it was an extra £1 or something to NI.

The parcel motel dream is hardly over all ready is it?

I think he's trying to ride ya!

An extra £18 does sound mental - sure they're only flat packed boxes.

He seems to want to send it fedex though

Asked him to send it Royal Mail standard post otherwise to give me a refund.

I was almost tempted to pay the extra £18, really need those damn boxes!

    Hah!

My thinking was that it would actually save space. At the moment my PCBs are all in the boxes they were delivered in. Some are huge, some are odd shapes - be really nice to have them all lined up in uniform boxes with artwork printed out on the front/spines :)

Was thinking I might even be able to fit 2 PCBs in each box dependant on size.

may well be the courier he has a contract with has changed their terms, and are charging him that much extra for non-mainland UK post.

Does he really need to bring a courier in though to post some cardboard boxes? That's one thing I don't understand. Royal Mail would be fine.

Ugh that's crap - most times UK sellers don't differentiate between mainland and NI I thought.

I was looking at your link at lunch and thought about getting them myself - but I'm not sure the size is big enough for some boards - not when you wrap even a small amount of bubble-wrap around the PCB. Most would be fine but some wouldn't; Sky Shark and Raiden at least. Also don't need all 25 so decided against them.

What are you going to do now? Surely not paying £18 on top?
