How Are Obama Worshippers Holding Out?

Remember the hysterical collective lunacy of 2008 when so many people were in convulsions of messianic zeal over Omaba's election. He was going to save everything - a new age dawned... People like me who were skeptical (I'm an Anarchist and he's still a politician for Christ sake...) were 'negative'.

Well my Liberal Progressive Friends, your character is going to be tested in the weeks ahead. There will be a point where your excuse-making will drift over into the land of mindless fanaticism if you are not careful.

Actually most people don't think much of him now. It's almost as if they gained information and..thought differently then, imagine. Just because he is not as great as people hoped, does not mean he wasn't a better choice than the other fool.

I'd say he was worse. He's a total disaster. Down with him.

He's no better than Bush. Democrat/Republican they are both the same and this is repeated teh world over. The political class is a cancer on the world, we are ruled by millionaire sociopaths only interested in their own greed.

If voting could actually change anything, they'd ban it.

    What were people expecting exactly?

He turned out to be much the same as the last barrax. Possibly even worse. Happily, I have never worshipped him. I've never even liked him tbh. He's just that bit too smooth.

Little more than a re-branding exercise imo.

Same **** in a different wrapper.

Still better than McCain's Oven Fried and Wrongney.

    Sometimes I surprise even myself.

Read the editorials in every Irish newspaper and magazine when he was elected for starters. The one in Hot Press is particulary comical. 'The Rock and Roll President'. Irish Art Galleries could not sell his portrait to Civil Servants fast enough.

Well he likes The Rolling Drones.

    Quick, someone quote the OP.

I can't see it on the dark skin.

He has been a disappointment, but still miles better than Bush. Of course, that wouldn't be hard.

Should also be worth remembering, there's only so much any one individual can do, be it Enda Kenny/Obama etc.

He has a level of "coolness"about him, which is fairly unique.

Still a better decision than Bertie Ahearne.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I know nothing about politics, nor do I wish to know, but is this thread just an excuse to say 'I told you so'? It sounds a bit smug.

Or people could have considered voting for one of the several candidates not actually affiliated with the hugely corrupt major parties. Surely that would have been more of a change than just flip flopping between puppets. Jill Stein seemed like a good candidate to me.

Seriously messed up situation when it's perceived as damaging for a third candidate to run, and a waste of a vote to vote for them. (Thinking of Ralph Nader's three campaigns; especially the one alongside Kerry.)

    Coolness or deceitfulness?

He got a Nobel Peace Prize for some reason, then kept Guantanamo open and stepped up domestic surveillance and drone strikes and so on. Mental isn't it?

He always reminds me of a more powerful version of ray Darcy. I don't like him either.

You can always tell if somethings no longer cool/past its sell by date when Hot Press are plugging it.

The truth is that people like Obama and Kenny can do very little if anything.

What can Enda do to aid in the countries economy, really? He just has to wait it out like the rest of the world.

These people often have to best economists in the country by their side helping them and giving advice, yet still nothing happens, yet every single poster on boards knows exactly how to fix this economic crisis - if only Enda would listen lol

I don't think the comparison is valid really. Kenny isn't okaying huge military expenditure and starting wars and so on.

No he's worse than bush. His security state is worse. His foreign adventurism as bad. He supports drones.

Part of the problem is that he's effectively hindered by the Republicans holding a balance of power in the House of Representatives.

I never saw him as a great President, Hilary Clinton would have been the better choice IMO.

I would not have thought so, TBH, but I never did like Obama and especially as he polished off the fictional character Osama as some people around the world genuinely believed that Osama, a terrorist created by the Bush regime, had been elected president of the United States of America, and it was embarrassing and confusing tbh.

So in hindsight, I actually agree with you [now]. ;)

why I dislike obama is that he presented himself as this hip caring cool anti-bush chap.
    He is worse than bush.

To give bush his due - he was honest on what he was. We all knew what we were getting with bush - he was honest that way.

btw mcCain would have made a better President
