€30. Bought tickets for the match, checked the price of the train and went to buy them today. Annoying.

€30 was a reasonable price but at €50 it becomes tougher to leave the car behind!

I think fares are reduced on some services if you buy your ticket a couple of days in advance.

I think prices normally go up 7 days, 3 days and 24hrs before the train (or possibly the day of the train).

I didn't see any mention of it at the time, I very rarely use the train tbh. Anyway, thanks for the explanation.

    are you an ISME member?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 93 ✭✭Happy4

you don't need to be a member.. as per the ISME website:

'ISME members can simply use code ISME2475 (input promotional code on payments page) to avail of the 10% OFF the on-line fare.
To make a booking just click here:
    http://www.irishrail.ie/'

Well why does it say ISME members can simply use then??? does this not imply that you do need to be a member! Anyway if you are not a member why would/should you expect this code to work?? you are not an ISME member so why should you be entitled to their discount! Otherwise there website would write something like this: Member of the public, anyone, it doesnt really matter can simply use code ISME2475.
