I don't know whether to be more angry or sad at this story. It's absolutely disgusting, the worst thing I've read in a long time.

Sometimes when I read stuff like that, I find it hard to believe that we live on the same planet as those sick, mentally disturbed, evil, uncivalised people..

I never really cared about these stories that happen a few thousand miles away that are so disconnected to my life here.

Ah yes, the oul "It's not affecting me personally so why should I give a sh*t?" defence.

Have you any idea how much different your "life here" would be if people throughout history had taken the same risible attitude you have?

The Chinese media are now saying that the police have stated that the corneas were not taken, I'm not sure if they were cut out and left somewhere else or if they were intentionally damaged or what. Seems more like an act of senseless violence than organ trafficking.
The little guy has said he was terrified, can't remember what she looked like or her approximate age, but she called him by his name. He's also asking why it's still dark and what time it is. Heartbreaking...

Sickening. Pure evil. Even if they are mentally ill. I hate the thought that i live on the same planet as someone who could do that to a child.
The largest thing i could intentionally harm is a rat. Even then i couldnt gouge out his eyeballs while he was alive.

maybe, but I saw it mentioned somewehere that the Chinese may be trying to censor/ or cover up an embarrassing situation on organ traffiking.

(I use that word 'people' very loosely. Animals may be better choice)

What animal does things for greed ?

    These people are demonic.

This is a horrific story. Anyone who could do that to a child for any reason forfeits any human rights that he/she used to have as far as I'm concerned.

The Daily Mail (as usual) went for the most sensationalist angle to this story as if the truth is not shocking enough. It appears that the organ trafficking aspect of the story is untrue (why would anyone remove the cornea from the eye at the scene of the attack and risk damaging them if the purpose is to sell them later)

Whatever the motivation for this cruel and disgusting attack, I hope that those responsible are found and that the little boy is given the very best treatment that medical science can provide.

If there is ever a technology developed that can restore sight in his circumstance, I hope that he would be at the very top of the queue

    Ban billionaires

inconprhensable - How one human can do this to another, surely the empathy part of the brain is not functioning properly here. Just effing sick.

I have a six year old boy, I cannot start to imagine this scenario. Poor kid. The sickos that are out there. Very distressing story.

    Wow, that's horrific.
    Poor kid.

How people are willing to buy black market organs is something I can't fully comprehend. Never mind the organ traffickers. Both should be locked away for the rest of their lives.

Perhaps some dont know where they come from. Some turn a blind eye.
When you, or someone you love, is dying and you need an organ you would probably pay anything to get it and you wouldn't care where it came from.

But for eyes... you don't die of blindness... I really cannot comprehend it.

I just watched this Korean movie called "The Man from Nowhere". It's all about organ harvesting and has people taking out kids corneas to sell. Then I stumble upon this thread, Weird.

Three of the most shocking things I have seen online; The child being run over by the truck and left for dead by passers by,the video of dogs being skinned alive for their fur and now this......... all made in China.

This is nothing, on the grand scheme of things. Horrific stuff like this happens every day over here. Recently there's been stories about a criminal slamming a newborn baby to the ground during an argument with its mother, brain damaging it (where it died shortly after), another boy setting fire to a girl's face after she refused to go on a date with him, and the ongoing case of the privileged son of an army general trying to wrangle his way out of an allegation of rape and battery of a karaoke club worker.

If you really want to be shocked, go to www.chinasmack.com and read in horror of what goes on each day over here.

Can't believe much of what the mainstream media says here; they're so heavily censored by the Government

That is absolutly fücking shocking. I have said it before and I will say it again, some people dont deserve the oppertunity of being alive. How can you justif letting a person live after they take the eyes from a 6 year old child for profit.

Police are saying tho, they found the eyes with the corneas , so it weren't organ trafficking ...

whatever the reason, I felt physically ill reading about it ... f*cked up world we live in.

I thought they found the eyes without the corneas attached?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,557 ✭✭✭the_monkey

According to the BBC - which is the only place i'd read about it, I can only imagine the scum Daily Mail sensationalism - Police said they weren't missing.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-23846633
Police found the boy's eyeballs at the scene. Local reports initially said the corneas were missing, potentially pointing towards organ trafficking.

Police now say, however, that the corneas were not missing and they have yet to establish a motive for the attack.

Ah... As sickening as that was, thats made it even worse:(

China eye-gouge case: Boy's late aunt named as suspect

Chinese police say a six-year-old boy whose eyes were gouged out may have been attacked by his late aunt, state media report.

The boy's aunt, Zhang Huiying, killed herself six days after the incident by jumping into a well, state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

Police say they found blood from the boy, Guo Bin, on the aunt's clothes.

If it was her then what an evil old cow she was.

If this wasn't organ trafficking then what could her motive possibly have been? (if it was the aunt) Maybe there was no particular motive, maybe she was just a twisted lunatic.

    "jumping into a well" ffs

she seems to have been hellbent on causing as much trouble as possible.
