Actually the sadest ending (now that I have had more time to think) is Fry's dog in Futurama waiting for him and then dying. Its just the most heartwrenching thing ever. I actually wont watch the episode of Futurama if it ever comes on.

The mood I'm in lately, I'd cry at the end of The Simpsons or Xpose.

Terminator 2. When he raises his thumb as he enters the steel.

    DON'T LEAVE ME ARNIE!

I'm exactly the same, and I know it's been mentioned on the thread already.

I deliberately will never watch that Richard Gere film 'Hachi' for the same reason. Something about dogs faithfully waiting for someone who never comes.... *runs away to get a tissue...*

That is actually very sad also, since Fry thought he must have lived a full and happy life, then it shows the poor thing waiting for Fry all its life.

The actually made a different version of this in Benders big score where the dog is frozen when bender tries to kill fry.

Dancer in the Dark. I'm still sobbing gently now 7 years later. :( Poor Bjork.

    The Green Mile.

    Band of Brothers.

Can't watch the end of either of those without becoming a great big red eyed snotty mess.

Forrest Gump - when he's talking to Jenny at her grave telling her he had her fathers house torn down and how smart the kid is :(

I also can't watch that episode of Futurama with Fry's dog. Breaks my heart.

Other episodes (but not ends of series) that make me cry are the episode of Cold Feet when Rachel dies and in ER when Mark Greene dies. I just watched all the seasons of ER again and I was sobbing watching that one. :(

Life is Beautiful is fairly sad I suppose, Requiem For a Dream I also found pretty bleak. Mean Creek (great film) has quite a sad ending as well, and is a film that would be overlooked a lot.

When Laura roslin dies at the end of battlestar galactica, bloody sad stuff

The ending of Gallipoli always did it for me. Great movie, terribly sad ending.

But on the mostly non-serious end of things, a couple of years ago I had a few weeks off and nothing to do so I watched all 90-odd episodes of Chuck. Which was a very silly show. Sort of a 21st century Get Smart. I liked it. But the ending was really sad. I probably wouldn't have felt it was so sad if I'd watched it over 5 years instead of two weeks, though.

The end of Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan when Spock dies always brings tears to my eyes.

On the theme of dogs Marley & Me is a movie that had me sobbing buckets. It didn't look like a movie I'd ever watch but it just came on the tv in my folks house so I ended up watching it. I was expecting a rom com from the look of it, sweet jesus how wrong I was :(

A movie I'd highly recommend if you love a good sob is Grave of the Fireflies by Studio Ghibli. Don't let the animation throw you off, a movie designed for kids it is not.

I dont watch love/hate but do you not think you should use spoilers if you're going to give that level of specific detail

    Pighead is bullshíting.

Nidge didn't cop it at the end of the third series.

    Darren did though.

And that for me was the happiest ending I've seen in a TV show. :)

Jesus, that's a movie you'd watch if you wanted to shed buckets of tears or wanted to make the hardest man cry. It is genuinely the most depressing film I have ever seen and it made me feel depressed for 2 whole weeks after. Really good movie though.

When Michael J Fox left Spin City - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgF0QRlMJds - it always gives me shivers*. Happy but also sad shivers*. Judging by the emotion on his castmates' faces, he was well-loved.

    * I know this is AH, but don't be that guy.

Can't wait for the The Michael J. Fox Show premiering September 26th!

The ending in in Bruges really upset me for some reason.the end of planes, trains and automobiles.
The ending in Pan's Labyrinth cut me up to no end too,Jesus I had to reach for a naggin after that.

When the boxer died in The Champ (prolly too long ago for most) and strangely enough I well up in one of the Xmas episodes of The Big Bang Theory when Sheldon hugs Penny...I have no idea why!

I thought the ending of Buffy was emotional in a bizarre way. After all those years the Scoobies are finally free of their old lives because the town literally collapse into a crater.
