At least Zhivago finally put in a Blu Ray section. Got 3 Colours White and Antichrist for a tenner on DVD last week after negotiating all the tourist stuff as well.

    Still a small selection

^ At least you have an xtravision, our one shut not long after HMV :(

Last few times I've been in Xtravision there have been more empty shelves than anything else.

They've had Blu-Rays for ages but the selection was atrocious. Even not it's not all that good and you'd be hard pressed to find anything worthwhile amongst the 10 copies of Walk Hard they have.

Limerick is going to be the first HMV to reopen, followed by the 3 in Dublin. Limerick is opening on September 13th

Liffey Valley in a couple of weeks.

Although it doesn't look like any work has been getting done externally. Was probably left in a relatively untouched state anyway.

I don't think we will see HMV in Cork unless they open a new store entirely as the original store on Patrick's St is now Golden Discs.

The Goldendiscs aint bad though has a fairly decent selection of tv shows and their chart blu-ray prices are decent too still hope we get a hmv though

They'll be honouring vouchers bought from the pre-closure stores, great news:

But turnaround specialists Hilco, which bought the UK and Ireland operations out of receivership in April for around €59m, has said it will honour valid gift cards and vouchers in the four stores opening in Dublin and Limerick.

Jeez thats a big surprise, excellent news. Fair play to them, I assume they didn't have to & that this is more of a PR fixing exercise or something?

It's great PR and it probably won't cost them much. I doubt there are very many vouchers left that people didn't bin months ago.

I bet that galway city is getting one as in recent weeks they've emptied much of the shelving and covered them with posters. The shop looks quite barren and it's obvious something id coming

They've done similar with Ballybricken Waterford, cleared off 3 shelving units. And have left them blank for over a week now, i was thinking not like xtravision to leave shelves empty, but after reading your post and Marty's post i wonder if this is the case.

Here are the full list of confirmed Xtra visions stores opening Hmv units

Very surprised that Kilkenny isn't on that list. Our Xtra Vision is a bit off the beaten track, and I was actually surprised it was one of the stores that stayed open when others were closing down. It's a small store, yes, but I really hope HMV open up there in the future because I honestly can't see it lasting much longer without it

Blanchardstown HMV isn't reopening and the Xtra Vision closed down too. It's weird that an area that size, and a shopping centre that size has neither.

    that's not the full list:

"Negotiations with other landlords are on-going and we hope to make further announcements in the coming weeks"

there's only 16 in that list, 10 short from the overall 26.

I'm assuming that this Xtravision/HMV hybrid will be little more than a few HMV signs instore and a bigger emphasis on music. Would be nice if they brought in a selection of Blu-Rays similar to smaller HMV stored and charged HMV prices. Xtravision really don't like bringing down the price of Blus, The Avengers is still €28 instore and Dredd is still €26. I got Dredd in HMV for €18 on release day.

I presume all pricing will fall in line with HMV full outlets.
