Have a look through Premier's older posts before drawing conclusions

conclusion came to from info on this thread .... of which there is none and is pointless for every post of late being send me a pm as well ...

as i have no affiliation with this company and have never used their services i will recommend a company that may help in this field .. i found them on donedeal and they seem highly recommended based on feedback on both this forum and others.

I am currently testing an iptv box. Runs on Android 4.2.2 operating system. I installed a custom built version of Android. I also have installed xbmc on it. For €5.50 per month it streams about 20 tv channels, (About 14 sports and rest movies and entertainment) I have the Al Jazeera channels similar to Glenviewjf with Richard Keys. Its not off the shelf product as such, but once built it autoupdates itself.

Because it operates on android you have access to Google play store and all the apps there. So you can view netflix, youtube etc on tv.

As part of XBMC i have access to rte player, tv3 player, icefilms and 1channel and many more....

Not bad for the price. (Approx €100-€120 for Android tv player)

Ok. Just to update progress on above. Have been testing on a €48.58 euro iptv box. (May cost few euro more if customs get their hands on it) Allow €65 tops incl taxes and an post fee.

So for €65 you get a nice little dual core iptv player and FlyAir mouse Wireless Keyboard that operates on 4.2.2 android. plays Netflix and XBMC on your tv. Access to google play store apps. Through XBMC and offside you get all the sport you want and Richard Keyes included...Subscription of €5.50 pm for this.

I have been testing with custom firmware. I have ordered another one of these devices and plan to test with shipped firmware. Some here may prefer to not have to reflash the box. It will be about 2 weeks before I can report back on that.

Doesn't seem to be any of the Al Jazeera Sport +1 - +10 or HD channels on it though. Shame.

Yes I can. XBMC just makes it a lot easier and has other benefits.

Ive subscribed for a monthly pass with Al Jazeera see how it works out, as I can airplay matches from MacBook to Apple TV. Be interested to see the quality of picture, etc.

I already had an overplay account so with the exchange rate monthly pass cost €14.50.

I just subscribed to the al jazeera sport online, I tried on both my computer and the Iphone, the HD quality is amazing but you know the SD channels are exactly like on hotbird.......can't wait to watch all the PL and Champions league matches as the 4 channels left on hotbird are full of crap football recently.

I have an Al jazeera card for hotbird with a subscription until August 2014, do you know where I can sell it? if anybody is interested drop me a PM.

What is the app called? I did a search and all I found were two Al Jazeera news apps?

I had on it on my phone already from a couple of years ago but they seem to have a video guide here (you need to get it from africian/middle east itunes store).

The HD quality channels watching through my MacBook are 1st class. I tried my PS3 last night but no joy the flash player on PS3 is not up to date to play the channels, which, is a big shame.

Looking forward to my choice of matches at 3 o'clock today. Think ill be watching Southampton v Sunderland, as I've my Fantasy Football captain playing in that game Lambert.

Just a shame I cannot get app on iPad couldn't be arsed trying to setup a middle east account with an iTunes card from that region.

    Does the app cost money?

The app is free, you just need to change the country of the AppStore to download it and then you can switch back to your country again.

Few more screenshots and videos lads if you can..Chelsea v Villa was not on uk or Irish tv the other night..just one example of a game we miss and signing up to AJ Sport looks even more tempting.

Oh right. Just a bit confused then about why an iTunes card from Egypt would be needed.

edit: Just downloaded the app myself and while not perfect the PQ on the news channel looks decent enough. Handy outlet for Premier League goals. Just seen them all and for free :)

Anyone else experiencing syncing issues with the Android mobile app? The picture is great but the sound lag is annoying.

The tablet app does not seem to have this problem but refuses to go into landscape mode

I watched Southampton v Sunderland today & the HD stream was super better than most TV station normal channels. Sorry no good at screenshots etc but I air played through Apple TV no problem. All english commentary, no lag, no freezing, except for once & it was my broadband. Very impressed!

I don't think you can download it from the App Store unless you have an iTunes Account for Egypt, which, I am not bothered setting up.

Just to clarify for those who are willing to download the app, you just have to go to the iTunes settings, pick Egypt as the country and select a zip code from the list (there is no need to change any other info like name, address....), accept the terms and conditions, go to the iTunes Store and download the app, once it's downloaded go back to the iTunes settings and pick Ireland and again accept the terms and conditions.

The quality is amazing on the HD channels, I am watching on a led TV and its almost as good as the RTE2 HD. The best 100 EUR that I spent on football so far.

I don't think this thread belongs on the Foreign Satellite forum any more. Nobody is talking about TV reception via a satellite dish.

I'd love to know before I buy a subscription to the JSC online service.

No matter what it is it will never be as reliable or cheap as buying direct from JSC themselves
