I think anyone can form an opinion any time they want to be honest.

However, I find the "black and white" nature of the whole thing really annoying and amusing at the same time. Nobody really knows what the club's transfer strategy is, what the transfer budget is, the entire picture of what signings were pursued, the entire picture as to why some signings worked out and some didn't, the factors which caused a particular player to choose another club over Liverpool, or whether despite what may have been printed in the press Liverpool were ever actually really in the hunt for player X or not.

I see other utterly hilarious simpleton assertions like "We have the TV money, we should be spending it, other clubs are!", or "Does anybody know when we receive the actual cheque for the new TV money?". LFC is a multi hundred pound a year business guys, run by people who understand the mechanics of running a business with that much revenue.

Me? I'm the type of supporter who wants Rodgers to do as well as I wanted Kenny to do, which is as well as I wanted Rafa to do, and Houllier before him. (I couldn't stand Hodgson for whatever reason, an anomaly in my mind). I don't judge the owners on transfers alone, as even though they might say things in public to win over supporters, it's not always that simple.

Liverpool couldn't sign Messi even if we had £150m to bid for him and an offer of £1m a week in wages.

Totally agree, however it's like some guys on here are pissed that the rest of us are waiting to see how the window pans out.

Personally, I gave the club a pass after the whole Dempsey debacle. This summer I was hopeful, still am.

If we fail to bring in players before deadline day. I'll be the first to criticize the club

No doubts - but the defending you saw there is commonplace.

IMO, Borini looked sharp when he returned at the end of last season. He also did pretty well for Italy in the summer.

He's no Suarez but I think he can do a job for us

I agree...with Shelvey and Downing gone he will take a lot of stick though.

Gorgeous diagonal ball from Suso there.

Suso, after a slow start, has come into the game well.

It's important to keep re-iterating this IMO. Otherwise the goalposts will be moved in an effort to heap praise on management/FSG.

Yeah, might be a smell of Borini of them, the posts used to be funny, now it's just sad and pathetic at this stage.

I'm not happy we didn't upgrade at CB, but I'm willing to see how they get on, I'd expect an improvement from Skrtel if he is called upon, if not, an upgrade signed in January.

Lucas is a worry for me, they are taking a gamble he'll get back his pre injury form and he keeps fit.

Put it this way, if we get Willian, I wouldn't have expected £45 Million spent on the front 3 plus keeping Suarez back in May. I'd also have expected Reina still here, no Cissokho and a new CB for the money spent there.

Still, while my main concerns haven't been addressed, I can't but not be impressed by the front 3 options we have/could have. A big complaint of us posters during Kenny's time and the first half of last season was lack of attacking options on the bench.

Almeria dominating the game so far without being great in the final third. Suso without a doubt their biggest attacking threat.

Attacking wise, we are sound provided Surez stays and especially if that hologram that is known as Willian signs.

A top CM is needed, an all rounder.

    A top CB is needed.

Sub keeper while not as important as the other two should be sorted two.

In summary, you don't think they're going to address what we all agreed was required this summer. But now you're seemingly excusing it or making out that I'm out of line for not adjusting my expectations, like you have, to excuse our underwhelming business so far this window. Got ya.

Lol at throwing the stink of Borini back at me. He's playing in our ****ing under 21's. Nearly everyone agrees he's pretty far down in the pecking order, despite being a favourite of the manager. That should tell you all you need to know about his time at the club so far.

    Smart, spot on post.

It'll be interesting to see the with and without Suarez stats after the 6 game ban is up. If they still are as good they wont be as easily dismissed.

Actually, they should be even easier dismissed. Statistically irrelevant as there has been a host of other changes in our team, as well as other teams.

Maybe we will all be wrong, I'll wait and see how it goes first, I don't believe my opinion on needed signings are infallible, you've had your mind made up since last Summer.

Maybe Agger, Skrtel and Lucas will have a season that we all thought they were capable of. Your a big fan of all 3 I think? Rafa signings and all that.

    Agger & Lucas. Yep.

Skrtel. Meh. Decent but not great by any stretch. Definitely possible to upgrade.

Just to clarify, you saying above that maybe quality signings for our first team aren't required to get top 4?

Monday meltdown, better late than never.

Maybe I'm late to the party but saw actual photo of sissokho in pool attire signing contract....no creepy Ayre. On phone so can't post but maybe someone has?

Watching the Man City game, talk about amazing players and an amazing squad. Not sure if James Milner is going to get as many games as he would like this season. Might be worth throwing in a cheeky bid?

    Would anyone here take him?

    Not in a million years.

Despite the ridicule I'm about to get from some - he would not be a starter for us, and he would not fit in with the quick thinking, movement-based attack we are trying to build.

By the same token, guys are entitled to wait until the window closes before lambasting the club.

    Fair enough.

Expect some posters here to be asking the same questions at the end of the window.

You can take it for granted that it will be pointed out if the signings are made so expect it if they aren't.

And if they aren't made and the questions are asked, don't be dare infer that the posters are taking satisfaction out of it. They are passionate about our club and they don't believe that it is being run as well as it should and some even think that the owners are consciously misleading fans. If either points in the previous sentence are even slightly true, they are perfectly entitled to shout about it from the rooftops.

Agreed, he's a good player but not for us
