No chance of Vice City. That will probably be the first next gen game so I doubt they have much, if anything, for it on current gen. Would be a massive waste of time and resources when they could wait and make a killing on the next full game by returning to the scene of their best III era game.

I'd agree with that. A polished/refined Liberty City for all intents and purposes could be 'dropped in' the GTA Online universe due to it being created on the same game engine, but I can't see them building an entire Vice City map for it. That will be a huge money spinner for them if/when their first next gen game is released.

A San Fierro or Las Venturas city would be more likely imo.

I'm guessing those maps will be available for Online like what COD has. Of course, those maps are quite old so they'd have to be upgraded with newer textures and animations. It would be extremely impressive to see if it were to happen and I'd throw all of my dosh out for it

Delighted. Purely cos of the amount of PC owners that constantly go into console threads to tell us how great their PCs are.

It was an 8 month wait for IV to come out on PC and this time round it could be a lot longer.

The money is in consoles so I wouldn't be surprised if after the game is out on current gen consoles, the guys at Rockstars main focus would be to get the GTAonline part of V out on the new consoles with more players and better graphics maybe. Porting it over to PC might be put on the back burner.

Only reading now about how high the demand is for this. Dammit.

Is there anywhere I can preorder to guarantee the game on release day?

Getting a bit late in the day for pre orders I'd imagine. Chance a gamestop if there's one near you?

Any you guys upgrading your TV for GTAV and the next gen consoles? I know this aint a tech thread so if anybody has any recommendations and what to look for to improve gaming experience I would be delighted with a PM.

GTAV is the first game I have pre ordered in years, normally I would just shop around on the day but it sounds like it may be hard to come by and I would be worried if I had not pre ordered.

Don’t forget that since the last GTA there are less options for Brick & Mortar stores, Game, Zavi, HMV & Chartbusters all gone, plus a lot of the independent games retailers.

Another option to Tesco may be Argos, I was lucky with them before to find a game in stock no one else had it. Plus what you can do is keep checking their website and as soon as it shows up you put in a reservation they keep it until close of business the next day.

Maybe preorder on Gamestop.ie and choose priority shipping?

Or maybe Gamesnash still have some copies left?

I just put a tenner down on a copy in Gamestop Liffey Street in Dublin 5 mins ago, so they're still taking orders.

Does anyone know how quick the shops will restock. I dont plan on getting it until the following weekend (20th Sept). Would stores be restocked by then do you thinK?

yeah but you'll need to preorder it. I foolishly didn't preorder IV and it wasn't in stock anywhere around Waterford for nearly 2 weeks after release.

Did they say that they'll definitely have enough copies to cover all their orders though? I wouldn't like to pre order, then land in after work only to be told to come back in a week or so when they get more in.

Early October for wave 2 is what we are looking at here.

That's not necessarily the case for individual stores / chains that are pulling stock from already bought in central allocations though.

For those pre ordering off us ...

I think I have gotten everyone who PM'd me sorted but if you wouldn't mind double checking your order status on the site to make sure it says boards.ie priority pick. If it doesn't drop me a PM so I can make sure you're in the first pick run.

As a comic aside / general observation the boards community here are currently heavily weighted towards PS3 - so much so we're likely to sell out of PS3 altogether long before Xbox as it's starting to skew our overall stock levels.

Well Pat it is clear to everyone here that the reason for this is that

    Playstation ROCKS!

    And

    Xbox sucks !

( may not be true and is quite possibly a poor attempt at a flame war)

Most of the boards crew are PS3 users. That might explain the current 10% win percentage :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,309 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Xbox users kicking PS3 arse on the Crew leaderboards. Of the Boards Crew, PS3 users have a combined XP of 222,465 while XBOX have 1,217,673. Saying that, their highest earner djkeogh4 has 3 times the XP of all PS3 users combined.

    Fair Play DJKEOGH!!!

Any idea if this is going to be available via PSN Store?
