The Mirror say that we've agreed personal terms but yet to agree a fee with Anzhi. We've bid 26m, Spurs have bid 30m.

They can't buy Leandro Damiao as well! So we'll get him and Eriksen.

There it seems better already :)

As has been mentioned by others, He played for Anzhi. The lad is swayed by money. Friedel wanted to rejoin Liverpool but went to Spurs because they offered a better/longer contract.

Neither club offer Champions League. Things like wages will be major factors. Spurs will compete financially with us. What we have in our favour though is the fact that Spurs have Chadli and, at the moment, Bale to play on the left so he might think Liverpool would be a better option coming up to the world cup. Then again, Coutinho and Lucas aren't as likely to be going as Paulinho, so he might potentially consider a partnership with him to be favourable.

Of course money comes into it, but Dempsey and Sigurdsson, if things are to be believed, were being offered a lot more by Spurs, than they were by us. There's not going to be such a big difference, in this case.

Think we should wait and see what the Echo have to say, they are usually gospel.

I'll be sick if Spurs beat us to Willian, he would a whole new dimension to our team. If Willian is the guy we really want we need to break the wage/transfer bank and get it done. Levy is the king negotiator so if the Spurs interest is totally legit I dont hold much hope at all.

Unreal that we loose out on players to Spurs these days.

Levy's negotiating skills won't come into it. He's only going to get Willian if he agrees to pay more money, either to the player or his club. Simple as that.

Spurs only got Dempsey over us because we couldn't agree a fee apparently, Fulham wanted £2m more and then we offered Henderson :D

The Echo won't be privy to the details of any Spurs bids though.

Willian and Eriksen would be one heck of a statement!!! Even though I would prefer us to be signing and DC or DM.

The twitter stuff about Eriksen is bullshyte/

The twitter account that was earlier tweeting about him going to Liverpool has put this up.

@ajaxschare: Our apologies go to all Liverpool fans regarding the WRONG news about Eriksen #AFCA

Cedric has been causing all sorts of problems for Madrid. Only 21 but his 1st game in La Liga. Betis bought him for €1.20 (!).

Only if Pardew manages to convince Joe Kinnear that his name is William and he's English.

Im institutionalised at this stage really miss the old arm out the window of ranger rover ranting his classless gob off to sky every chance he could...:D.

I still dont know how he didnt get the coveted england job;)

Looks like we got there first but didn't make it count. Was always unlikely that we would. Anzhi let clubs talk to the player this week without a fee being agreed. They're likely hoping as many clubs come in as possible. Willian picks his team, Anzhi fleece them late in the window knowing all the other pieces are in place and that there's a rake of clubs waiting in line if their value isn't met.

At this point it's highest bidder stuff I would say.

We have thankfully given up on overrated Damiao this window he has had plenty of chances to move to WHL ..we are still in for Eriksen apparently though.

Id love him too we could have done with him today when Palace parked the bus

It would be really disappointing to lose Willian to Spurs.

How many transfers will it be that Spurs have pipped us at the post since FSG took over?

We can argue semantics about 15m versus 30m all we want but players choosing them over us or them outbidding us is somewhat representative of where we are as a club at the moment.

If Solgado and Willian both work out and prove to be 20/30m players, Spurs wil have shown us exactly how it needs to be done.

Unfortunately Spurs can offer European football, a manager with a higher reputation

Two further examples of where some Pool fans heads are at.

Quite a few here argued that we would be better off not qualifying for the Europa Cup. It was a distraction apparently. Think a few people at the club weren't overly interested in it either I remember.

I wonder whether the players that regard AVB as being the better manager just think so in order to have a dig are Rodgers too?

Spurs are beyond taking the pi** at this stage

Yup, all that ambition really is a pain in the arse! We can only hope that they prove to be flops. Fingers crossed.
