I'd pay money to see how we go about getting targets. I'd love to see Ayer or whoever it is in action. I don't mean that in a smart arse way, I'd genuinely love to see a how a deal starts from top to bottom with us.

    Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 3m
@paudieconnolly @MostarLFC @LFCNegotiations London will be a factor, but suspect #LFC will pay bigger wages. Player likes $$

Lets hope Willian is a big fan of cash money.

Why do I come on here? :(

He played for Anzhi, money's got to be his main motivation.

Sigurdsson and Dempsey might disagree with you there buddy!

Two spoofers interested in the cash money, one of whom is returning to his native USA after a solitary season, and the other whom will end up at a middle table side. Any serious footballer picks Liverpool all day, every day.

If Spurs sign Willian, I'll never type another letter, on this website.

Doubt he went to Anzhi for the famed local Stroganoff ;)

Is this a Lord Trollington Promise or the Cross-your-Heart variety? :P

And the cycle of hope, waiting and despair goes on!! Can we not just wrap up a deal instead of letting it drag on and on, we've known about Willian for over a week!! This is the 3rd target we've hit this stumbling block on

Gazzetta dello Sport saying he's close to a Spurs move.

They said we were going to sign Gaston Ramirez last summer. Take it with a pinch of salt for now!

Sigurdsson started today, and AVB said just last week that he's key to his plans. Fair enough on Dempsey.

And when it comes to Football, money is the main motivation for most players, make no mistake on that.

I'm definitely holding you to this promise! I shall be monitoring the situation closely :)

Lets hope Willian likes Lucas and Coutinho more than Sandro!!

Spurs are beyond taking the pi** at this stage

As Breakfast Percy pointed out, our Transfer Committee key member, Michael Edwards, was poached from Spurs.

So we can't really compalin about poaching; we're similar level teams, inevitably we'll be competing for players

If Spurs buy Willian Bale is gone.

    Apparantly Bale is learning Spanish.

To lose 3 players in one year to Spurs due to late hijackings might be considered careless at best. Incompetent at worst.

It's nothing to do with Liverpool in fairness.

Well you either get the deal done or you don't. It's not like Spurs can even offer CL football either.

As has been mentioned by others, He played for Anzhi. The lad is swayed by money. Friedel wanted to rejoin Liverpool but went to Spurs because they offered a better/longer contract.

Neither club offer Champions League. Things like wages will be major factors. Spurs will compete financially with us. What we have in our favour though is the fact that Spurs have Chadli and, at the moment, Bale to play on the left so he might think Liverpool would be a better option coming up to the world cup. Then again, Coutinho and Lucas aren't as likely to be going as Paulinho, so he might potentially consider a partnership with him to be favourable.

To be fair Spurs have a long held interest in the player. That may be a factor.

If he does choose Spurs then I hope the club move quickly for an alternative.

I'll be sick if Spurs beat us to Willian, he would a whole new dimension to our team. If Willian is the guy we really want we need to break the wage/transfer bank and get it done. Levy is the king negotiator so if the Spurs interest is totally legit I dont hold much hope at all.

Unreal that we loose out on players to Spurs these days.

It's a choice though between Spurs or Liverpool. It's not as if Liverpool had a week window to seal the deal. Spurs have (apparantly) come in last ditch.

Story has also been pulled from Gazzetto: I wonder if all these Willain to Spurs bets were made on a chinese whisper that's been proven to be untrue?

Cease with the knee jerk reactions based on a single story peeps. It'll either happen or it won't, but thankfully we only have 2 weeks of this nonsense to go before we have the more normal knee jerk nonsense to discuss.
