The general consesus on Willian would suggest theres a gulf of difference between blowing a stack on him, than Downing for instance.

I don't think you get what Overpay is.

Sorry, but the Argument, is that getting Willian for 10M-15M means that there will still be Questions asked about the Owners and the Club.

I don't think there's anything wrong if we get the Player for a Lesser Fee, do you?

A manager is ultimately judged on where the team finishes in the quest for honours, in addition to these days, qualifying for the CL.

Judging a manager by selling fees for players and wages saved is ridiculous.

I could probably show plenty of footage of the players "looking happy" when Hodgson was here. Again fairly ridiculous.

Great signings thus far, no argument there. Feel the same about all the signings or just cherry picking?

So far the club has handled it well. It's not confirmed whether he'll stay yet though so let's wait and see.

i think its a bit pre mature to judge this summers signings. but allen i think will be a great little player for us. he is a good passer of the ball and he can tackle. its early days for him still but he is a better option than some of the player sin recent times. assaidi and borini havent been given enough of a run to judge them but all in all i think his signings have been good. if we get willian i think we will have another great signing on our hands.

not every team is capable of challnging for titlea and 4th place. does that mean their managers are not great?? how about moyes?? is he not a great manager for his time at a small club like everon. i think youll find alot in the game would think he was. how about Martinez?? bruce?? jol?? all graet managers. to judge on just trophies or top 4 is silly. some clubs are not in the position to challenge and if you where to put it down to just trophies and 4th place then rodgers was rubbish at swansea

Our fans were a lot angrier, and justifiably so, than this guy is.

My fear is that being us in 2/3/4 seasons time.

I think we've had our time in the doldrums. I hope we stay on the up.

Is there any update on willian?

Its not as fanciful as you seem to believe, especially considering Cleverly is already in it!

    This morning you have used the word great to describe;

    1) Joe Allen
    2) Brendan Rodgers
    3) Our team (without Suarez)

    Just stop it.

I think Henderson would get into the Man United team. I think he'd do very well for them.

Damn sight better than Anderson and that lump has been in there squad for ages now. Cleverly not much better either and most united fans dont really rate him either.

I would agree they wouldnt get into City, chelsea or spurs midfield though.

just saying hwat he has been doing has been great

he got overpayed fringe players out of the club. he sold andy carroll and actually got 18 fricken million for him ffs. he brought in players like sturridge and coutinho. the players look happy and he has to be praised for his part in the suarez affair. so as a manager he has been great. he hasnt won anything yet and may not but he has been a great manager for us in his time here.

He's moving in the right direction, but he's a long way from being considered great. If this season we only get another 7th, with no other silverware, he should pack his bags.

    not to mention Steve Bruce?

    the mind boggles.

I NEVER post just to stick it to someone, but christ almighty some of the posts this morning have been absolutely ridiculous and judgement of some folks has to be called into question.

I think Henderson would get into the Man United team. I think he'd do very well for them.

He probably wouldn't get into their squad.

Allen can't get into our team. I'm not quite sure how he'd get into the Utd team.

Anyway, I'm sure we'll have a Utd fanboy wade into this in T-60 mins :pac:

Tom Cleverly is in it? Seriously, Tom Cleverly is really, really bad.

great = doing better than previous form

before rodgers are team was a mess. we pretended kenny was playing attractive football we over payed for mediocre players and we payed them too much so couldnt get rid of them. our team was going backwards. before kenny we had roy who tried to do a swan dive down the league. we where in a relegation battle ffs.

so yes i think that rodgers in his time has been great. i agree to an extent what rarnes is saying about judging on trophies and 4th place but overall i think what rodgers has brought to the club is stablity and a foundation to build on. he are looking healthy squad wise and our football is great. we arent boring to watch and the way he presents himself is honorable and what should be expected of a manager of liverpool fc. that is why i think he has been great

So in other words, you dont know what great means.

BR has done ok, and has a lot to prove IMO.

just to clarify im not saying that the are "greats of the game" im just saying that those managers have done a great job is all.

I don't think you get what Overpay is.

I'm pretty sure I got to the bottom of the cryptic maze that is the meaning of the term "over-pay". I'll just leave this here, as it explains what I meant.

I would rate Allen above Cleverly, but thats just me, I really like Joe Allen as a player.

I'm still not sure what to do with Henderson.
