We drew with Swansea last year so 3 points today is very welcome.

More positives than negatives. RVP was sensational.

Loved Evra bit of skill by corner flag.

Thought it was good solid performance. Welbeck was cause for Swansea goal.

But its 3 points and was solid display.

Just other slight negative is some of our passing was little slopppy, but hopefully that will improve for next week

I'd go along with this although Cleverly looked out of his depth at most a mid table premier league team and I thought Jones was very poor today. Jumping into everything like a lunatic and then his decision making when he had the ball was awful

Didn't even bother reading the thread.

Super Danny Welbeck. A big **** you to all his doubters.

    Well done lad

Well it's a better start than last season... when that f*cker Moyes beat us.

Lets all not cream ourselves about Danny Welbeck because he scored 2 goals today.

Like Moyes said I prefer his first goal because thats the position he needs to be getting into more often

Lets not forget Welbeck was at fault for Swansea goal.

    Season does not end today.

He's constantly improving and that's the main thing, I'm delighted for Danny, he gets a lot of criticism.

Trying to play like Barca in front of your own box. Shocking.

Swansea were amazing in the first 15-20 mins. United couldn't get a sniff of the ball. Will really need to up our game.

The state of Cleverly today and the fact we played Giggs might frighten Moyes into buying a player in the next few days

I'm actually so disappointed by Cleverly. I'm a fan of him but he's just not progressing at all and seems out of his depth more and more in games.

Carrick seemed to be playing a position much higher up the pitch, Cleverly was often deeper than him.

Phil doing some extra work with Anderson:

Dream stuff for Moyes on debut. A nightmare now for Anderson. In an empty Liberty, Phil Neville is making him do 50 yard shuttle runs.

    Jonathan Northcroft ‏@JNorthcroft 58m
"All the way!" shouts Phil. Anderson's face is a rictus.

Good to see that. In my opinion, it's shape up or get out time now. He clearly is a good player, but his fitness has been poor, yes there's been injury issues, but fitness still not there.

Great to see Rooney acting like a spoilt brat. Hope he does it all season, so long as he keeps supplying assists! Keep up the good work WA WA Wayne!

If Welbeck was trying to play like Barca he would have spotted Evra with plenty space and passed it to him first time. Instead Welbeck wanted to waltz through the middle.

Luckily it wasn't an important goal and he'll know better next time.

There was a lad who posted a list as long as my arm of potential midfield players we could buy. I don't watch as much ball as that lad but there was about 10 players who could easily play in our first 11

We may not get our number 1 targets but we should still be buying players who are easily available and better than our current midfield players.

Great bloody goal if rvp did that we all be jizzin over it.

Welbeck has work to do to improve parts his game but he always gives his all never complains keeps his head down plays his part for team.

He's a great squad player to have always happy when he does well.

i think the team relaxed too soon including welbeck leading up to that goal we've been guilty of that before when we've let teams back into the game when we should have hammered them. its something i hope leaves the team as the team evolves from fergies team to moyes' team

What's the point of this though. Buying any player that could improve the midfield. Better to just get a player that you really want instead of replacing Clev and Ando with mediocre players. At least they have experience of winning things and know the Utd way.

Caught the second half of the match today, and saw the highlights of the first half goals. Great start to the season in my opinion. Yes we didn't hold on to the ball very well at times but in attack we were top class and deserved the four goals. Thought Wellbeck and RVP were very good today. Wellbeck was especially good in possession. I'll forgive him his part in the Swansea goal this time because I admire him not wanting to boot it up the field. However in this case that was the wrong decision, but his finish for the fourth goal made up for it! :D

Glad to see Rooney getting a run out. Even when seemingly half-interested he still had a part in two of the goals and showed how good a player he is. We'll miss him if he goes and definitely can't sell him to a rival.

As for the other players I thought it was a professional performance by most of them, nothing fantastic but nothing terrible. All in all a great first game against a good team who have already played some competitive football. I can't wait for them to hit their stride. A new midfielder would be nice too. ;)

Actually thought Valencia played half decent too.

He got into good positions in the 2nd half but still is spineless when facing a defender.

Actually thought Valencia played half decent too.

In a attacking aspect I didn't think he did much besides the assist which was well taken to be fair. He seems to linger just behind the position you'd expect him to be in, passing it backwards alot. There were one or two moments he tried to take people on but besides that I thought he was fairly poor

Taking away the assist he was just as bad as last season really, you wouldnt even know he has blistering pace if you watched him for the first time today. You'd think he's playing with the mindset of a right back because he almost always plays it safe and doesn't take enough risks.

The sooner Nani is back the better, it'll maybe wake him up if he's sitting on the bench for a few games, competition will do him some good.

In fairness Routledge would have been up against him a bit and he has excellent pace.

Our pressing isn't great. The forward players pressed on a few occassions but the midfield and
defence didn't push up so Swansea got out easy. This needs to be worked on.

Vidic and de Gea still have some communication issues to sort out it seems

Although not at our best that was an excellent result for Moyes first game in charge. Delighted for him.

RVP was immense. Worth every penny, and I was one of the ones claiming he was a luxury when we signed him. What a class act he is.

Welbz was very good too, lovely little dink for his 2nd goal.

Defence looked a little shaky but not too bad for the first competitive game back.

Giggs shouldn't really be starting matches for us at this stage. I'd much prefer to see him brought on after 60 mins to add composure.

Fix that midfield and we will be laughing. Cleverley was noticeably poor today.

In fairness to giggs his lob to RVP for the first was beautiful. but i do agree we shouldnt be starting him as good as he is

I think Giggs was played because Moyes wanted someone with his experience playing in what was a hugely important game for the new manager. Now that the first game has been won and that pressure is off, and with players returning to fitness, I think Giggs will be used more sparingly.

I think the only reason Giggs started was there wasn't anyone else available.Rooney isn't match fit and Kagawa played in Japan Wednesday so a big ask getting him to start today .I was hoping Kagawa would get 30mins .
