that you cant remember anything or what you did the night before?

Can't believe you bothered to ask this question on an Irish forum. :D

And, yes, yes I have. :(

Never forgot the entire night, but have often forgotten the end. Last memory was in a bar ordering a big round of drinks, next thing I wake up in my bed with the lights on, my clothes strewn in a path from the front door to my bed, and everything all blurry as I've left my contact lenses in. Oh, and my tongue feels all furry.

Once and only once have I blacked out on the night. Got absolutely smashed at a New Years eve party, my last memory was stuffing my face with cocktail sausages. Next thing I know I'm in bed with a very attractive young woman (and that isn't gloating, as I'm normally a social disaster zone). I didn't wake up, as I hadn't been asleep. I just suddenly became aware of where I was, and what I was doing. What really bugs me is how it happened, as she wasn't even in the house when I blacked out.

    Very, very scary. And dangerous.

are you seriously claiming that only beer and not just that, a specific registered trade mark of beer causes you to black out?

    Yes, he's a blatant shill. :D

I don't get what "the fear" is.

I think it's the anxiety over what you may have said or done.

Ended up getting so drunk that I woke up with a 4 in 1 on top of me, opened and upside down and when I ventured downstairs found chicken wings laid on each step..it was a rough morning, I remember none of the night.
Although I had drank just under a little of Captain Morgans in an hour so how I was even alive is beyond me.

Lads I was out with swore I seemed fine, but just disappeared from the nightclub

I've gotten Jason Bourned a few times alright - woke up the next day with 5 different passports on me.

I've never not been able to remember a whole night out but there was one occasion where I practically blacked out and had to be taken home. I remember up to that point though. A few of the nights out I've had this summer have included the odd *missing scene* moment which I sort of regret and find irritating when I think back on it, mostly because it sort of feels like your memories of the night didn't really happen. Then again some things are best remembered through an alcohol-induced haze :p

Having said that, I'm not a huge drinker. It doesn't take a lot to get me drunk so I try to stay under my limit, but even when I do have one drink too many I always seem to start sobering up again before the night is over. I never don't remember getting home. I don't really like the general feeling and loss of control that comes with being really drunk, but I also never get hangovers so I'm sure there's a few more half-remembered nights in my future! :pac:

    Yep, once.

However, I believe in "Telling Lies" it's discussed that the vast majority (90+%) of cases of alcohol induced amnesia are simply the person being embarrassed by their actions and using it as an excuse to avoid having to deal with the consequences.

    Have to agree with this..:D:);)

One morning I woke up quite worse for wear after a heavy night out with one shoe on and the other one missing. I rarely get so drunk that I blank out but this was one occasion that I did. I had been out drinking with a few workmates straight after work and by 10 pm I was well on my way to tipsyville. I met up with my then girlfriend and a few of her friends at another pub and soon enough shots of sambuca were being passed around. After going outside for some fresh air that was the end of the night as I remember it. I'd like to think that I stumbled to a club afterwards and danced the night away but that didn't happen. Instead I apparently went back into the pub, puked all over my girlfriend and one of her friends and got thrown out by the barman.

I never found that shoe after.
