to me it looked like he hated the fact that was announced & gazidas for announcing it, undermining him basically

maybe its nothing but you know when you can tell more by peoples reactions to things if you spot them, than whats actually done or said, thats the impression i got from it

I think myself if we fail to get through the CL qualifier he should go, because if that happens the blame lies squarely at his feet. If we don't make it through what chance have we in the league. I'm not talking getting 4th either. The days of scraping 4th and Wenger getting away with are gone. We need to challenge this year.

Why the fcuk are so many posters in here concerned about money. Matching 114k a week for Gustavo wouldnt be the end of the world if we had bothered to offer it and no, its not too much imo. Football has moved on and theres no way any club will sign a top top player for anything less than 20 odd million and usually nothing less than 100-150k a week. But here we still are hoping to get a world class player for 10 million and hoping he'll settle for 80k a week.
Not just here but too many Arsenal fans are money concerned, its like Wenger's philosophy has started to rub off on us and it drives me nuts.

I'd say yes please.

Too similar to Arteta for me. If we get a midfielder I'd rather a defensive midfielder that gives Arteta the freedom to contribute more to the attack

we have wilshere and ramsey who could offer more to attack than arteta. i would like someone who can just rotate with arteta, who would do the same job to allow wilshere, ramsey, cazorla to concentrate more on attack

Maybe i am being overly optimistic but i think we will get either Suarez or Rooney. I know, I'm deluded. But because of Gazidas comments at the start of the summer Wenger now has to spend big on big players, or else deal with the inevitable backlash from the fans.

Suarez is back training and joking around with the Liverpool first-team. I think the deal's dead and if it isn't, what is stop us making a third bid? Can't see Rooney happening, Utd seem steadfast and don't want to undermine Moyes by having his first major transfer dealing to be selling Rooney.

Yeah but by all accounts both players want out and Utd didn't want to sell to Chelsea as they are a direct rival. Say they would be more inclined to sell to Arsenal as we are a level below at the moment.
Has Suarez apologized to Liverpool as a whole or just the teammates? If it was just to the teammates then i still feel he still wants to go. Nobody comes out with a statement like he did only to go back on it within weeks. He still wants to leave Liverpool and its time for Arsene it make it happen. Unfortunately that involves spending money which he doesn't like to do often.

No confirmation of an apology from Suarez but evidently something has changed.

As for Rooney, I'd love if Utd deliberately sold to us rather than Chelsea but I don't think they'll unless Moyes can bring in a big midfield signing, which is looking unlikely.

Either would be great but it's time we put in some bids again for both. Otherwise I'd be happy in someone like Lacina Traore providing us with something different and challenging Giroud for the starter spot. Wouldn't mind Michu either.

Major fan of Wenger and I love everything what he has done to the club, massive respect for him sticking to his principles but are we kind of institutionalised with having him in charge, most fans seem scared to death of the thought of him leaving including myself, but at the end of the day this is Arsenal Football Club and the club will go on without Wenger. I am not calling for his head far from it, but if he doesn't deliver this season I am afraid I will have lost all faith in the great man.

It would be a plus at least after such a disappointing transfer window. Time yet, but methinks Suarez staying at Liverpool, and Rooney staying put as well. Our options/choices are getting smaller by the minute. Get Chamak and Cervinho back, lol.

Agreed. The codicil being that even the great man has to step down one day, and know that he is not cutting it as well as the past. He has become a bit erratic in the last few seasons and possibly the belief in him has waned. I had hoped that we would start the new season in a much more confident positive fashion, but alas, the hangover from last season is still there and worse perhaps?

If they spend £30m+ on Willian then to me that implies they are perhaps doing so with Suarez leaving in mind...

Not that we'll be the ones to get him though.

Last time I did the fantasy football, I seemed to be cursed. If anything happens to Mertesacker, Cazorla and Giroud this weekend, it was probably my fault again

If I'm still cursed, I'll need help in coming up with a new team of spurs, United, Chelsea etc
