So we are all agreed only positivity in the new shiny thread?

Is the arsenal game on espn today?

Any chance we can leave all the negativity behind on the old thread ?

    So summer 2014 then? :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 822 ✭✭✭Pudders

I think arsenal will win the league and the Champions League and lose in the semi's in the League Cup and the 5th round of the FA cup.

    :p

Apparently Higuain was looking pretty overweight at Bournemouth last night. Perhaps his price went up so much as he is priced per kg.

Hey, we'll have an even bigger war chest next Summer. I say we should just hold out until Summer 2015 and bring in Ronaldo and Messi.

Still a good while 'till the window closes. Things will start to heat up as we move into August.

If we are in the same position in a month's time my posts will begin to resemble yours. :D

L'Equipe is reporting that Arsenal are signing Bernard on a 5 year deal. Medical organised for Friday.

Put that in here last week and I was ran from the thread for posting bs!

Don't know much about him but he's a left winger which we badly need.

Giroud is on great form in pre season. 1-0, great cross from rosicky.

They tend to be pretty reputable when it comes to our team as well

I knew this thread would be different I knew it :pac:

Seriously though, i know bugger all about him but from what little I've seen he looks a tidy player. Similar to what Grenier would have been I suppose?

I've always said that Giroud is a very good back up striker

Saw him play about 30 mins for Brazil against Uruguay a few weeks ago and he looked impressive. He came on on the right wing to replace Hulk and troubled the LB a few times.

Wouldn't be my #1 signing priority but it'll add some depth to the wing positions I reckon, especially if Gerv goes.

he's in outrageous physical shape this pre-season.

He really could be a beast if he keeps his shooting boots on. A very intelligent player, and underrated by the masses.

    Double edged sword for me.

On the one hand, he is gaining confidence and sharpness.

On the other, it's pre-season so it means nothing. Arturo Lupoli step forward.

Think I saw a fee of around £21 million quoted for him - so he'll be our biggest ever transfer. I take it Gervinho will be on his way to Rome. Shame it didn't work out for him.

Don't mind that I really can't see that one happening don't think Fabregas would want the move nor can I see Barcelona be willing to sell after Thiago. Unless for some strange reason the new manager wants him out. Moyes going public with it stinks of desperation from United and Moyes, like I said earlier in the transfer window I don't think Moyes and new unfound uncertainty at United will make United as big a pull on players as they have been normally.

Moyes especially is unknown outside of EPL and will not have many players wetting there lips wanting to work under him.

How reliable are L'Equipe? I don't know anything about Bernard but someone posted a video were it stated his weight as 54kg I'd be fearful the better defenders in the league would just have to blow him off the ball.

Well, its a start. Other areas of the team need strenghtening though.

He looks much more comfortable in himself. He's making more and more of the right decisions when on the ball these days.

barcastuff ‏@barcastuff Barcelona president Rosell has written a letter to Man United to explain Cesc is not for sale and to ask them to not insist anymore. [sport]

Agence France Press reporting it too. That's pretty reliable

    ahem :pac:

What a pass from Zelalem though. Serious looking crop of youngsters we have coming through.

I know its pre-season and all but Zelalem is crazy good, he will be an assist machine when he reaches the first team.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

The general consensus seems to be that he'll be a first team fixture very soon. A Wilshere/Fabregas level talent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭Marty McFly

I really like the look of Gnabry and Zelalem two really bright prospects for the future, might still be to soon to see much of Zelalem this season but hopefully see more of Gnabry or he gets a good loan spell.

Agreed. Gnarby I have a fierce soft spot for as well. Looks real quality.

What a finish from Gibbs there :)

Zelalem is still a bit scrawny isn't he? His passing is class though.

Been on about zelalem for a while in here
And have to say he looks like a baller
