I missed that :) nice though as it means I can unlock it one handed.
Will let ye know how it goes battery life.

yeah do! I tried sweep to wake kernals on my One X before and always found they got through the battery a little quicker. That said I have never tried tweaking CPU so that can make a difference to battery life

Seriously? I think they're the best set of headphones I've ever gotten with a phone. They're the first set I haven't thrown away straight away.

Finally got my upgrade from meteor, very impressed so far. Coming from a galaxy nexus I didnt think the change would be as big as it is! (apart from having to downgrade from android 4.3 tho!)

However, on the nexus I had three buttons down the bottom, one for going back, one for the homepage and one that would bring up a list of all the open apps i had, is there a similar way on the One of seeing what apps are running?

Hit the Home button twice, quickly. Hit and hold for the app menu, hit and swipe up for Google Now. If the latter two are wonky, update.

Anyone got an easy way of transferring my contacts from an iPhone 5 to the HTC one. The transfer app can't connect to the iPhone for some reason.

Download the iDrive Lite app on each handset, very easy to use. You just upload the contacts from the iPhone then login on the One and restore them.

I agree, I love the headphones. Keeps out all other noise, and stay in comfortably when I am jogging. (bit dangerous crossing roads though as I never hear the traffic with them in! This never happened on other earphones)

Why can't I have my home screen as the screen with time on top and my 4*4 panel of apps (see attachment 1944)? I've tried in settings but this isn't an option?

Also from this screen I think it'd be handy if I could scroll left (or up twice) to view my feeds.

last thing/rant- if I organise apps into folders why isn't this replicated into the 'scroll left/right layout (see attachment 1945)?

    Cheers,
    pa.

I'm fairly sure you can do this with a custom launcher.

You can make a non blinkfeed screen your default and then dump whatever shortcuts and widgets you want onto the other home screens.

Got a weird problem with my One today. Noticed earlier it was using mobile data instead of my home wifi. Then it was telling me that the wifi password was wrong (hasn't changed). After rebooting the phone and disabling wifi security, got it to connect ok. Re-enabled security, still connects ok.

Looking at the router, I can see the phone is connected. The router logs show packets from the phone's IP.
But nothing's coming back to the phone, everything is just timing out.
PC is going through the same router, working fine, so it seems ot be a phone issue.

    Any suggestions?

[edit] Ignore this, it's the router, for some reason it's blocking all wireless traffic

Maybe its just me then but i find them very uncomfortable but the sound is great just cant wear them for more than an hour and there is only a pause button could really do with volume/skip buttons

I got my HTC One yesterday :D Loving it so far, however I can't seem to get the vibrate to work? I don't have it on powersave mode, but it just doesn't vibrate (haptic, notifications, beginning a call etc...) I've checked all the notification settings, and it all seems set up fine. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Do you have on Silent? Silent and Vibrate are two different modes, on silent the vibrate doesn't go off at all.

Nah. No haptic feedback or anything! I found a code online to go into a debug-type screen (its: *#*#3424#*#*), there I selected the vibrate test. It ran, but the phone never vibrated. Guess it'll be a visit to a shop this evening to see if I can get a replacement.

Had an issue with connecting to my router after 4.2.2, if anyone else is having a problem... Fix was to set a static IP address: long press the network name and choose modify then advanced (I think).

Is there a way of adjusting the vibration level...have searched the phone and can't find that option

I got a replacement phone, hurrah for vibrate!

I don't think you change the intensity unless you put a custom kernal on it.

My iPhone 4S contract runs out in November. I 'd like to get the HTC one, but just wondering if anyone knows when the new Next HTC phone will be coming out.

At a guess I'd say next summer.

I want to buy a second charger. I've tried a few android cables and chargers. Can someone recommend one that charges pretty fast. The Samsung cable I'm using in the usb of my laptop now and it has barely got to 33% after 2 hours.

I'll be getting this phone within a couple of days. What are some of the first apps I should set up or the first things I should do with the phone

MicroUSB cables should all work the same, regardless of the manufacturer. You will get charged much faster by plugging into a mains socket adapter than by plugging into a computer USB port.

If you're gonna buy it outright buy the Google play version of it. Google sell it directly and it's class.
