Good insight as to what a Peru prison for women is like http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/06/magazine/06berenson-t.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

My flatmate worked with her for around a year. She was a PR girl for rain nightclub in Belfast. You can probably imagine the type. I'd say she got caught up with the wrong sort in Ibiza and had delusions about living some sort of cool gangster lifestyle and was then exploited as a drug mule. I find it hard to sympathise from what I know of her but I wouldn't wish a stretch of prison in south america on anyone.

Time in a Peru prison will knock some sense into her, she wont be poking people on facebook or using twitter over there.

Did she never watch The Midnight Express?

Silly stupid selfish girl. Good riddance to her. Her poor parents.

stupid Girl, She has put her family through hell.

hopefully she can server her time in a Prison up North.
    Why?

Irish Passport, let the government of her chosen country pay for her upkeep in Nick.

why should MY taxes pay for someone who doesn't want to be associated with the country.

leave her in Peru, or transfer her to a prison in Eire.

Still a better love story than Twilight.

    I'm sorry.

    Ah good, they found her.

Ah good, she had an Irish Passport, so Just like Andy Murry is Scottish til he wins & then becomes British, she'll be listed as Irish (obviously her choice) and not British.

    Bitter, are we?

About 140 grands worth each I think.

I wonder what street it is you're buying your cocaine on, because it's not the same street as I'm buying my cocaine on.

These two have had quite a similar fate, both even worked at the nightclub promo lark:

The Journal are saying her and her friends' stash amounted up to €1.5m street value. Hard to believe that over 10 kg of anything is worth that much.

    €1.5m/10kg = €150 per gram

I would't have believed it costs so much but for pure cocaine apparently so:

multiply that by 7 or 8 by the time it is cut and mixed

Gold is currently €31 per gram. Drugs should not be illegal, we will never be able to control it anyways.

Do Northern Ireland have a passport? She's from the north of Ireland and that's why she should stay there. It's often done on compensate grounds

Listed as Irish, as she as an Irish Passport, last time I checked people born in NI can apply for one.

As for Andy Murray, its mainly the media who hype him as British, plus theres no such thing as Scottish Passport.

But getting back to the thread, not sure what the Irish Government can do, she commited a crime in a foreign country, has to face the consequence of that. Poor girl must have been desperate to chance it.

    desparate or greedy?

Scum of the earth, good riddance, one less Cartel operative.

Lets remember the victims of the Cartels, the addicts and the
people slaughtered on the killing fields of central America.

Was she on the run and arrested because of media interest?

No, she was arrested cause she had almost 6 kilos of coke on her.

who says she doesn't want to be associated with the country? just because someone in NI rejects British culture or identity doesn't mean that they don't want to be associated with their homeland
