I see that Belfast girl that was missing in Ibiza has been found in Peru. With 5kg of cocaine in her luggage.

    http://www.rte.ie/aertel/desktopxhtml/104-1.html

All the panic about her and she was off on a drug run. Good riddance.

Guess we will see her on banged up abroad in a few years. In a way I do feel sorry for her, probably went out there, got caught up in the lifestyle and done something extremely stupid. On the other hand I think, how could you be so stupid. We all see the news and TV programs about drug smuggling in these places. They don't mess. At least for her families sake she is still alive, and hopefully lives through Peruvian prison time.

    Ah good, they found her.

Ah good, she had an Irish Passport, so Just like Andy Murry is Scottish til he wins & then becomes British, she'll be listed as Irish (obviously her choice) and not British.

Jesus, I have woken up in some places after a night out, but never Peru with 5kg of cocaine in my luggage.

Can you get a fry in Peru, anyone know?

I believe fried guinea pig is quiet popular.

Fried guinea pig and llama maybe.

Glad she's alive, but seriously wondering if she has an IQ exceeding single figures. How could anyone be that stupid these days?

Deep fried. I couldn't find any decent sausages or rashers there. But if she'd gotton the white powder in Bolivia she could have popped into Ollies in La paz for a nice fryup.

BTW, the deep fried guinea pig is manky. Apparently it's not bad as a roast.

Listed as Irish, as she as an Irish Passport, last time I checked people born in NI can apply for one.

As for Andy Murray, its mainly the media who hype him as British, plus theres no such thing as Scottish Passport.

But getting back to the thread, not sure what the Irish Government can do, she commited a crime in a foreign country, has to face the consequence of that. Poor girl must have been desperate to chance it.

I'm sure they will concoct some story about how she was forced to do it for some reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,166 ✭✭✭Fr_Dougal

Thank god they found her and she's ok!

If she had any cop on she would have told someone that she was going away for a bit and they wouldn't have launched the manhunt, selfish bint.

Was she on the run and arrested because of media interest?

Nothing quiet about deep frying a guinea pig. They are squealers.

it would be ironic if she was picked up coming through Peruvian immigration because someone recognised her from her "lost daughter" pics......

takes a special kind of stupid to smuggel drugs these days.

At least Peru don't execute you for it.

Pair of gobsh¡tes. They've put their family's through hell. I wonder if it's their first time.

About 140 grands worth each I think.

Jeez what a silly silly girl.

First her family were going through hell wondering what happened to their daughter.

Now they know she's alive but they will be going through a completely different type of hell knowing the possibility their daughter could be spending a large chunk of her life rotting in a prison cell in South America.

What was she thinking?? It's not as if it's not well publicised about what can happen to you if you try such an idiotic stunt..

It's worth a hell of a lot more than that. I reckon a gram of coke costs is a bit more than €25, as per your calculation. Probably the stuff she was smuggling was uncut or quite pure too. Easily in excess of €1million. Dunno what an accurate figure would be.

She can kiss goodbye the next twenty to twenty five years of her life and all just to keep the party going a few more weeks.

4 years and 8 months in Peru. Can be released on serving one third of the sentence but think they have to remain in the country for the remainder of the sentence and your not allowed work.

Im glad she has been found safe, for her family's sake. Silly girl though, she will regret that decision!

Thats the silliest post I've read in a long time here.

Not quite as silly as walking through an airport in Peru with nearly 6kl of snow for luggage.

    But silly nonsense nonetheless.

My flatmate worked with her for around a year. She was a PR girl for rain nightclub in Belfast. You can probably imagine the type. I'd say she got caught up with the wrong sort in Ibiza and had delusions about living some sort of cool gangster lifestyle and was then exploited as a drug mule. I find it hard to sympathise from what I know of her but I wouldn't wish a stretch of prison in south america on anyone.

Time in a Peru prison will knock some sense into her, she wont be poking people on facebook or using twitter over there.

    Why?

Irish Passport, let the government of her chosen country pay for her upkeep in Nick.

why should MY taxes pay for someone who doesn't want to be associated with the country.

leave her in Peru, or transfer her to a prison in Eire.

The Journal are saying her and her friends' stash amounted up to €1.5m street value. Hard to believe that over 10 kg of anything is worth that much.

    €1.5m/10kg = €150 per gram

I would't have believed it costs so much but for pure cocaine apparently so:
