This thread went down hill last night

    The big ones take time

This is exactly it. The quality players are the ones that clubs dont wanna sell. That we have to haggle over price with.

I cant understand the meltdown in here last night. Nothin changed between the evening and night time but everyone started saying we are doomed!! Suarez is banned from training with the first team until he says sorry. I would have thought this was a good thing for Arsenal. Liverpool saying he is not for sale is BS. Suarez is gone from Liverpool. If we do sign him it will take time. Patience. We dont really have any injuries and the squad is good enough to compete for 3 weeks at the start of the season.

I think there was a bit of optimism floating around when the Suarez news surfaced on Tuesday evening. I suppose there's been a natural correction to that since.

I suppose the negitivity in the air regarding the lack of transfers may have alot to do with it but i have to say i am worried about the CL draw. There are some seriously dangerous teams in it. The "weaker" teams would be Metalist & Pacos De Ferraira. But if our heads arent screwed on them we could be in trouble and then the lack of signings so far will really come back and bite us in the a$$.

They really are hating on arsenal in the Liverpool thread, saying we should be reported.

I think the sense of pessimism last night was also compounded by the fact by them up the road signing "another" player yesterday.

Arseblog's piece this morning would be exactly how I'm feeling as of now. 9 days before the season begins, and apart from an injury prone French second division forward with heaps of potential nothing to show for Gazidis' posturing earlier on in the Summer. Another disastrous transfer window. Still time alright, but signings should already have been made. Can see us not buying anybody between now and September 2nd.

Ligue 2 midfielders on trial fish?

You know you're losing the fans when arseblog turns on you.

I honestly can't believe they've let it get this far. They're sitting on a mountain of resources. It's absolutely bonkers.

We let go the guts of 30 players them spaces need to be filled too

No problems with a ligue 2 midfielder on trail

We need two players who can go straight into the team

    Striker and midfielder

    Everything else is squad fillers

Right so we shouldn't spend actual money on the rest, anyone will do? We are a CL club with a £100m budget - why are we even looking at a 26yo Ligue 2 midfielder or a Romanian reject from Schalke? Penny-pinching is all it is. We need quality back-ups all over the squad and that costs money, money we have.

Hopefully the signings will come, I'm more worried about the teams lack of creativity at the moment, going forward we are boring and predictable, sideways passes between defenders and midfielders with the odd chance been fluffed, lets hope were working on it in training.

I've said this before but if Arsenal can't spend money this summer of all years then there is 100% a transfer policy that goes beyond spending cash.

We have offloaded a shed load of deadwood, resulting in a super light squad and no sign of any new blood.

Either things are happening in super-secret mode or AW is starting to believe his own press conferences.

The dog in the street can see that we need signings. Even if AW believes the first 11 are strong enough - he can't fail to see we need cover. Can he?

I'm hoping for paper headlines like "Suarez smoke-screen lands Arsenal 3 quality signings" or the like.

Go on AW for once let us have the last laugh

We've had 3 months. How much time do we need exactly? Whats the plan if we dont get Suarez?

There is no way on this Earth that so many players would have been released without replacements in mind. It's just not feasible.

Suarez deal probably impacts on those targets so I guess that's why we're waiting for him first

I said this yesterday if we sign 2/3 quailty players, the players positions they take them they will become "quailty back up"

It's pretty simple if he don't strengthen an we fail he gets sacked

As wenger would say it takes 3 agreements to get a deal done, so we can't just blame arsenal for deals not been done

I'm hoping and praying we have someone in place in case Suarez dont happen

If we don't well I agree that's just scandalous

Does anyone know what time (GMT, if it is happening) the Fabregas press conference is at? Also, any word on why the players are meant to be so excited about something happening this week?

Think its coming from that lad Wayne Gooney but doesn't seem in any way reliable!

Cesc has already signed for us, had a medical in July but still went on tour with Barca and might play for them for another season? What an absolute load of crap.

My desire to believe this Wayne Gooney guy almost makes me believe him but I'm fairly confident he is a spoofer.

IS Wayne Gooney saying that Cesc is going to Arsenal or United?

With a name like Wayne Gooney I would assume he is talking about Utd. Can't see that happening myself.
