what do you mean the parents won't do anything? have you asked them and what was their response?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 371 ✭✭Teagwee

Vomit on them. Manage to get even a tiny splash on them once and all you'll have to do the next time is look as if you're going to heave and they'll scarper! Guaranteed!

Buy 6 ferrets, train them to be highly aggressive towards kids. Next time kids in garden, unleash ferrets. No one will believe them - attacked by a dog maybe, but not ferrets.

i don't know about others, but we get abuse aimed at us from the parents as they are only children and they are doing what all children do, and they know their rights

A paintball gun rigged to a motion sensor should do the trick; just turn it on when you're not around and anyone trespassing in your garden gets blasted. 'That? Oh, that's for keeping cats out of the flowerbeds'.

Find out where farmers sell those electric fences.

Install one in your garden, have it nice and low, hidden in the the plants.

Maybe install a cctv camera too, so you can then watch the fun.

Hmm, wasn't it a girl who called your wife a hoar? Not sure why everybody is saying he.

No it wasn't. THe OP doesn't say if the children were male or female.

I genuinely don't know what I'd do in this situation.

I obvious anser is to speak to their parents. Their parents are responsible for them so if you;re unhappy with their behaviour, report it to them. They might thank you and punish them or maybe they won't.

It is my personal belief that the parents should be charged with every crime their kid commits until they hit the age of say 14, after that they should be dealt with by the juvenile system, also if their kid does damage to property then they should have money docked from their dole to pay for it until its paid for, same goes for any fines and that should be up until the age of 18 when they are financially responsible for themselves.

If people think this generation of scummers is bad wait until you see the next ones that are coming up, I live in an estate full of scummers, the way that they speak and act towards and around their kids literally has to be seen to be believed. It's crazy ****. I know it's not nice to write kids off, but honestly if you had seen what I have seen you would be of the opinion that they don't have a chance. We need to get a decent children's service running in this country so that they can intervene and give them some hope. Like I said people think this generation of scummers is bad wait until you see what a daddy with 80+ convictions and a drug and alcohol problem and a mammy who chain smokes, wears their pyjamas all day and thinks nothing of abusing, threatening and scrapping with people in front of their kids produces.

You must live near me cos I see the exact same thing where I am, else its more widespread than expected.

    Edit;
I actually feel sorry for the poor girl every time she walks by the window. Her mothers literally roaring at the top of her voice at her, and the girl is 2 foot behind her. "COOOOMEEEE OOOOOONNNNNNNNN".

Every time i here those words I shiver, would love to hit that mother a smack in the face.

I wouldn't approach these parents! I know of other people who have and it hasn't been pretty! ( threats of violence, criminal damage to property etc ). That was the whole purpose of putting up the post in the first place!

It's possible but this is definitely more widespread than you think, these people are not isolated incidents, I know plenty of cases across the towns and villages near where I am living its a very sad state of affairs when small quite villages are being taken over by the by products of the regeneration.

i was going to post a simliar thread too,

7 year old, 8 year old, and a 13 year old last night thought it would be great fun to whack in my 4 years olds window with a hurley because my husband asked them to move away from her bedroom window,

who ever thought that communal back gardens in an irish estate was a good idea should be shot

Tell the parents of the 13 year old that they have one chance to sort it out and next time, he's getting slapped around if he's on your property.

i wouldn't slap him for two reasons,

one i'm not in the business of assualting anyone else, that would make me as bad as them,

and two he'd have me done for assualt

considering his mother is the one feeding him his 'rights' she is not really easy to talk to,

other parents have tried only to be abused by her because her sons do no wrong.

    Go to the police then.

There's no way you should be accepting that this little cunt purposely put in your window. Given his age, he has to be the ringleader of the other two.

im trying to contact the gardaí they aren't answering the phones however and the local station is closed.

    its an impossible task,

at least we are only renting so it is a temporary problem, we are currently about to start building our home in the country side amongst my husbands family so we will have an acre of privacy! so for now we are just counting down to the big move next summer and this is pushing us to move faster on the housebuild project!

Try and at least leave a message saying what is going on.

Even drop a vague hint that you're getting angry about it and feel threatened about it and they will probably come down to stop you taking the matter into your own hands.

I come from a small village in the midlands. It is a lovely spot near the Shannon however there are a couple of families and their kids run a muck and their parents could not give 2 f*cks. The local cop shop closed down a few years ago and the nearest cops have to come from 20 miles away. The local rag has more and more stories of court cases with young people breaking the law. It's very widespread and it's shocking. It's not only confined to cities and big towns.

OP, there's sweet FA you can do. Those little runts have no fear. You should consider installing CCTV. It won't stop them shouting abuse but it might make them aware you're recording them.

At 10 years old I remember thinking it would be a good idea to mess around at an elderly neighbours house. My dad found out what I was at, took his belt off and whipped my arse, needless to say I never terrorised pensioners again. That's what kids need these days, a bloody good hiding!

Don't know about that! I don't think theres any law in place to prevent it!. Its just not deemed "PC" today!
Anyway all I know is I got the belt from the ole lad and it taught me not to annoy the neighbours!

So you're suggesting to make thuggery a profitable endeavor? yeah... that'll put a stop to it...

I reckon if you're gonna do anything, go totally overboard.

You should kidnap the child when nobody is watching, shackle them with chains in your basement, play really loud death metal while a vicious (and savagely hungry) dog is barking at them *while just out of reach*, then go down into the basement in blood covered overalls (honey with red food dye will work fine), and start up a rusty petrol powered chainsaw. Laugh manically while said child ****s their pants.

Then just let the kid go run home and tell his parents while you take off the overalls and go have a cup of tea while you catch the second half of the simpsons.

I mean, that's a pretty imaginitive story the kid just told his parents.... some might even say, 'unbelievable'.

If you're going to do that, you may as well do a John Kramer in Saw on them!

No previous poster is correct. Started a thread on that very issue a while back and it seems that punishing kids in that way is outlawed these days. Not sure its the answer to antisocial behaviour in kids anyway!

Clattered a 16 year old before for kicking my door and then starting on me when I went out. To be fair, I thought he was older as he was my size and I didn't hit him too hard: just a slap really. I know it wasn't the most sensible thing to do and I was a bit worried he'd report me but there was no comeback and he never came near the house again.

A ten year old would be the perfect height for a good and proper kick to the face.

Or you could hide a few rakes in the garden and let him smash his own face in.
