Surely not the final team… But assuming that bale effectively leaves for real madrid this is my recent draft: suggestions/advices are more than welcomed!

    Boruc [Southampton] 4.5

    Koscielny [Arsenal] 5.5
    Toure [Liverpool] 5
    Coleman [Everton] 5
    Turner [Norwich] 4.5
    Chester [Hull City] 4

    Hazard [Chelsea] 9.5
    Walcott [Arsenal] 9.5
    Mirallas [Everton] 7.5
    Raven Morrison [West Ham] 4.5
    Dikgacoi [Crystal Palace] 4.5

    Van Persie [Manchester United] 14
    Dzeko [Mancheter City] 7.5
    Lukaku [Chelsea] 8

I like your team apart from Morrison who probably won't feature much (admittedly I've not paid attention to West Ham's pre-season so maybe I'm missing something). Should be good for week 1, though I'd probably sell Lukaku after the DGW and upgrade Morrison.

    Mignolet [Liverpool] 5.5
    Davies [Southampton] 4.0

    Ivanovic [Chelsea] 6.5
    Nastasic [Manchester City] 5.5
    Coleman [Everton] 5
    Turner [Norwich] 4.5
    Chester [Hull City] 4

    Dzeko [Manchester City] 7.5
    Lukaku [Chelsea] 8

    Small adjustments in defense:
    Mignolet + 4.0 GK
Ivanovic - is he nailed for playing both games in double GW?
Nastasic - a gamble that can payout good considering city’s first games: Newcastle (H), Cardiff (A), Hull (H)

Strategy would be Lukaku for Berbatov on GW2, Ivanovic for Koscielny on GW3 and then yes… upgrade Raven Morrison to a 6.0 midfielder (if he’s not a regular)

Which arsenal def is the best choice

Most people are going with Mertesacker or Koscielny. Koscielny had an injury recently so I have Mert in my own team at present.

can someone explain why is everybody picking countinho at the moment ?
9.0 mil and 21.1% ownership? seems like a lot of people trusting him .

what about zaha ? he play a decent pre season too from my point of view,
and price at 6.5 mil, just only 6.3% ownership.

In the great Hooper vs The Wolf debate I'm siding with Hooper right now. I was all for The Wolf before Hooper signed but Hooper has scored twice in less matches this pre-season to the Wolf's 0. The fact he's English and has experience albeit "Championship/SPL" in the UK could see him adapt quicker.

Would anyone else agree? He's also .5 cheaper and wouldn't have come if he wasn't going to start surely.

Aside from putting a lot of faith in Southampton's defense which I'm not exactly comfortable with I'm rather pleased with how the rest of it looks just at the moment. Oh and the DGW

    kq22r.jpg

Although this is probably better and Dzeko to Berbs is a simple and logical move after a few weeks especially as Bent has been linked with Newcastle and now Crystal Palace too and gives me rotation in goal which may be a good thing

    Any opinions folks? :)

I agree, same price and its a closer call but I'd prefer to use the .5 elsewhere

With the uncertainty over both, I'm thinking of going with Snodgrass in midfield in the hope that he provides a lot for the two lads to finish upfront, assuming they share the spoils, at 6.5 he's a nice price point too - zaha could be transferred in there if he shines this season like he could

I prefer Bony since he's the number 1 and only real striker for his team, albeit sharing the points with Michu. Of course he's more expensive

re coutinho they want liverpool coverage because of fixtures and he is the best option from liverpool zaha on the otherhand is unproven at this level and there are no guarantees he will be a regular starter.

I'd go with the second one. Top team but your only worry would be the 'keeper IMO.

In regard to your Hooper or Wolf conundrum, I'm still undecided myself. If Hopper continues his firm over the next few pre season games, I'll definitely go with him. Although I do think if one is forced out wide it'll be him.

Yeah I can see the merit in Snodgrass over them alright but I'd be more comfortable with Mirallas and 3 big hitters from Hazard/Wally/Couts/Silva/Michu than dropping one of them. I just have that "Lizard feeling" about Hooper these past few days. Could easily change tommorow :pac:

The more I think about it the less afraid I am over having offensive Swansea coverage. I just feel Michu is overpriced, I also feel Coutinho is so may have a toss up between them rather than both for sure. That would leave Bony who should be a revelation but as I want RVP I'm not sure I can trust him as it would possibly mean not have Arsenal or City. I'm overthinking it now though

Yeah the keeper situation bugs me but I'd rather go into battle without Mignolet/Cech/Hart than RVP. I could drop one of my big hitters for Snodgrass and fix up my team with the other 2.5 but that's dangerous in itself.

Yeah as I said in the post just bellow yours I have a "lizard feeling" about Hooper right now and I'll continue paying very close attention to Norwich. We'll have Soldado/Remy/Bent to consider this week now too before anything else happens

Looks good. Kagawa and Bellamy aren't definites yet so I'd be wary of them, but other than that it#s a pretty solid team.

Very similar to my own team which I have attached. I think you need to work Walcott in.

@roryc Cheers, I'm still 50/50 on both of them. Kagawa was definitely my 'something different/fingers crossed option!' I'm still not convinced that I'll go with him though.

@Lemlin That looks like one of my drafts! I had Brady in instead of Bellamy at one point. Walcott crossed my mind but at the moment I'm swayed toward Shinji.

    thoughts on this??

    Hart Boruc

    Mertesacker Toure Terry Coleman Cuellar

    Brady Walcott Hazard Kawaga Mirallas

    Lukaku Bony Dzeko

Cuellar and brady are my cheap sub options. I know Kawaga isnt a cert but im hoping he will get a proper chance this season. I know its been said Dzeko will be citys main man but im still not sure about him as a long term option, he could go yet and although Bony isnt Premiership proven, his stats speak for themselves and think hes worth a shot with the play Swansea play?

who would you suggest for vertonghen and carrick ?

Depends, i'd be thinking Agger or Johnson from Liverpool or maybe someone like Reid from West Ham. Could bring Vertonghen back in after the Arsenal game?

Carrick could have a decent season with the new bonus point system but if it was me i'd wait till after the first few weeks, United have some really tough games start of the season! Nolan, West Ham have some decent fixtures to start the season and he's usually good for an assist, maybe Chadli or Paulinio? Might be a gamble but could pay off!

Looks fairly good to me, second option that is, maybe a little bit weak with the keepers, but understandable with having RVP in the team.

Not sure about that Turner fella!

My team.... for now. With uncertanity over Rooney and Bale this has been the worse pre season for chopping and changing the team. If Rooney leaves Kagawa will be straight in my team. If Bale leaves... i'll be relieved at not having to jump on the bandwagon and fit him into the team!

    Mignolet Boruc

    Ivanovic Collins Enrique Coleman Baker

    Coutinho Hazard Walcott Mirallas Thomas

    Lukaku Rodriguez Dzeko

    2.5 mill left over.

Swansea have a tough start with Man Utd Spurs Liverpool in their 1st 4 games. Bony is one to watch though.

Looks fairly decent, not sure about doubling up with Mignolet and Enrique.

And i'd probably spend a bit extra instead of Rodiguez, especially when Lukaku and Dzeko aren't nailed on starters. Saying that I've gone for both of them as well!

Yes front three is a bit of a gamble. Only have Lukaku because of the double game week. Dzeko should be a starter i think. I could get Giroud in instead of Rodriguez alright. Never thought about the doubling up but whatever goalkeeper I go for would most likely have me doubling up anyway.

Yeah I'm still playing around to get a keeper in. Still 2 weeks for the likes of Soldado et al to convince me to go without RVP. Would like to find 1.o to upgrade to Mig if I could.

    Call it a gamble.

    Here's my latest attempt:

Mignolet: In a good Liverpool team - should get plenty of clean sheets.
Boruc: Good backup should I need to bench Mignolet.

Coleman: Getting forward plenty, should get the odd goal and some assists.
Koscielny: Arsenal defense should do good as ever + gets the odd goal.
Turner: Expect Norwich to push on from last season and expect Turner to play his part.
Collins: West Ham have the best opening sequence and I expect a few clean sheets from them.
Chambers: Hopefully gets his game - any suggestions for another 4 million player?

Hazard and Walcott: Speak for themselves. Hazard will be captain for dgw.
Mirallas: Should get his fair share of goals/assists.
Morrison: Impressive pre-season, hopefully did enough to get a run out at start of season.
Coutinho: First name on my team sheet. Gut feeling.

Dzeko: Apparently Pellegrinis' first choice and has impressed in pre-season. Can bring in Carroll if rotated.
Sturridge: Impressive since his move to Liverpool, but if Suarez goes to Arsenal, I'll upgrade Sturridge to him.
Lukaku: There purely for dgw. Out for Berbatov after the dgw. Other possibilities are Soldado(more than likely to cost too much) or Bony.

Mainly play 3-4-3 with the occasional 4-4-2.

Have 2 million in the bank to invest.

    Thoughts?
