Hi lads my head is melted at the moment.
After selling my car I'm still looking for a replacement.
I still have an old astra van but I think I'll try a replace this also.
So one option is to get a quick car with a lot of room like an estate.
The other option is to get a cheap daily and a car that can go on classic insurance, an 15 year old barge.

Some complete knob end came into the garage today in a 00 Astra complaining his fog lights didn't work, i actually took the job on myself and had a look at the car.

no switch or button for fog lights so i went out on a wild one and asked did the car come with fogs...... it didnt, he fitted a new bumper that had fogs on it and he just connected the wires expecting them to work. not a hope.
then went on to ask could we connect them to main lights etc.... no.

some people ..... Astra owners :P

Yeah typical astra owners always doing and asking questions later :P

See my one actually has a button for front fogs, when I tried them no joy, checked the fusebox, it was fine so I'm at a loss!

Crap! My plan's been foiled! :pac:

Thought you were in the NCT booking place?

Be sure and look after Albert.

Drove Mazda to mechanic today. I really forgot how damn stupidly fun that thing is. You just can't drive it slowly. It just screams for reving and you taking each corner like in some rally event.
Got a quick check up for nct on Saturday. Just needed a llight bulb so far. I really hope thereupon be any surprises on Saturday.

Just one thing that I decided after such a fun run with Mazda. I will kill misses. Whole car is covered in cigarette ashes! I almost flipped when sow it. That's after I told her about it last time. I already had a serious talk about It over phone. She will be doing full cleaning and washing to poor Mazda this week, or she will be walking to work.

The fitting of a 'felt spec lower front bumper that particular sets off a few Alarm bells, would probably turn me off viewing it to be honest. At best it got a bit of a tip and the owner didn't want to pay Audi prices for a bumper (what else has he scrimped on) at worst he thought it was cool and treated the car accordingly :D

    Are they fairly sound?

I saw this a while back, it has a good few marks on it and had water leaking somewhere at the passenger pillar. Did a check on it and it was a Cat C write off.

I asked them what damaged was done, he didn't know but would ring and tell me. Never heard back.
There a lad off autostadt has one but needs a new clutch.

I like the way your thinking MM :)

    Price range : say 5-6k, I had 10 but I've decided to build a garage/ shed

At 1100 there's a chance of a few things being needed.
However it does have a years nct (done last week) and is 15 years old. I doubt it'd have gotten this far without being treated kindly.;)

I think this has the Nikasil engine which suffers premature bore wear.
Most of these engines were replaced however.
If it is hard to start from cold it could suffer from bore wear. However chances are if it's made it this far it should be fine.

If I had a place to garage it, I'd buy it tomorrow.

Was it in a brown envelope? Good to see he opened a bank account finally :) I would have filled the inside of the tyre with bells so everyone hears him coming!
