There is an Irish server that we all play on. Search Gaellords or go to the website posted by Laviski above. They have a teamspeak server as well where you can find people to play with.

Played 2 games so far. Died in the first 30 secs in both. Can't kill zombies without guns... can't get to guns without entering a small town.... once a zombie sees me it's game over

It takes a while to get used to the game. Once you understand how to zombies work they're pretty much unimportant.

1: use the DayzDB map, it shows you towns where there are buildings to loot and whether it will have reasonable loot.

1.1: When you first spawn on the bottom right it should tell you the area you are in. Learn how to read the map and you'll pretty quickly be able to know where you need to go to gear up after dying.

2: Zombies are actually pretty easy to avoid. Once you get your bearings a bit better and learn how they work they're only an annoyance at best and only really a problem in giving away your position to other humans. (a conga line of zombies following you makes you easy to spot).

2.1: Zombies don't run in houses/buildings you can enter. So once you learn more what buildings you CAN enter if you're being followed they'll run up all crazy like, get to the door and then start walking so you can basically forget about them and just loot around them and move on. If there are no buildings you can enter in sight just aim for a steep hill and zig zag up it. Once you get a certain distance from a zombie they stop chasing.

2.2: Humans in the game are baxtards. Trust no one... 9.9999 times out of 10 they'll shoot you in the face and steal your stuff. The other .0001 times out of 10 they'll just shoot you in the face.

That's really the basics. There are some fiddly lessons to learn re the weapons and how they handle and using the inventory but that'll come in time. One useful/annoying feature of the game is that stuff only spawns when you are 300 metres (I think) from buildings. That includes zombies and loot. If you approach at speed (on a bike/car etc) the server can lag and nothing will spawn so you'll be wandering around an empty town wondering what's going on.

Enjoy learning how to play the game, getting loads of loot over the course of hours and then losing it all to a bandit pr*ck sniping you from a mile away for no better reason than he can.

Really enjoying this game. Logging in isnt getting boring so im glad I got it! The pace is nice and slow but sometimes it's too slow! I'm still running around with my shotgun (Winchester) which is being pretty useful but I'm still useless at avoiding Zombies. Haven't been killed by another player yet! Saw someone in a car yesterday but was too slow to sneak up on him and shotgun him in the face . Think I was near one of the cities last night because it was huge and I heard lots of shooting (and seen plenty of death notifications) so I avoided it like the plague. I logged off running the other direction so I'll be heading somewhat northeast tonight and in search of some sort of rifle and a replacement for that f*cking tazer!! If I get home at a resonable time to tonight ill jump on comms.
