    Hey lads,

Warranty question ... I bought a one used with no receipt, box or anything like that. I bought it knowing that there was a fault with the top speaker (it's blown or the casing is lose or something). Didn't think it would annoy me too much but it has. I find myself always wanting to play things aloud and phone calls are a bit of a pain. I'm wondering if I could get a replacement under warranty?? Even without the receipt and the likes. I figure that no matter what itshould be under warrant since it's hardly gone 6 months old. Wondering how I should go about getting it fixed for free or if I'm wasting my time.

You should try and get in touch with them, I sent them a message a while back (about OTA updates) and they got back quickly. Your phone is under warranty for 24 months, but they do want proof of purchase...

    id email them here
    http://www.htc.com/www/contact/email/

    or read their warranty here
    http://dl4.htc.com/Web_materials/Manual/Warranty/Android/1015_A_WarrantyCard_76x126.pdf

I know HTC really want to be known as a good tech company and wouldnt like the negative press you could give. good luck!

Just bring it to your local Fonemenders, they will type the imei into their system and once it's under 24 months old and not water damage they will fix it free of charge.
    No receipt needed.

    Hi,
Just received my HTC One today.
I'll order a thin, cheap case today.
As there's 95 pages in this thread can anyone summarise some bits (easiest way to copy over contacts etc. from iphone, best websites for information, tips n tricks, best app review sites etc). please?
I've downloaded the users guide, looked at video-20-beginners-tips-and-tricks-for-the-htc-one/

    cheers,
    Pa.

ok..coming from iphone to android and this is still annoying the crap out of me.
For every notification regardless whether's it email/facebook/twitter the bloody phone keeps interrupting my music.
Anyway to stop it besides muting ringtones & notifications? I hated this on my previous attempts when switching to android and always ended up going back to iphone as it's handled miles better.

That's odd, mine just lowers the volume of the music for a second while the notification plays, then the volume goes back up.

Does anyone know how to disable the headset from calling the last dialled number when its clicked twice? I want my two clicks to change tracks when listening to music.

that's not the point..the iphone handles this kind of thing excellently..so well in fact I'm trying to remember if I ever did get interrupted..whereas with android I have a few email accounts set up, twitter, facebook etc (same as iphone) and yet it keeps interrupting my music every few mins..
Both phones had the exact same notifications etc yet android's ones are more intrusive...gottta live with it I suppose.
It seems to be a common complaint from people switching from ios to android.

    Settings > Sound > Volumes

Set up exactly how loud you want ringtones and notifications. Same for music.

Honestly, I don't know if I ever have been disturbed by notifications, and I use my phone pretty solidly.

I got this a few days ago and I absolutely love it. Although last night at 1am it called my boss after I put the phone down on my bedside table. Didn't realise until I heard the low level noise of my boss's voicemail coming from it...

Hello.Wonder can anyone help with this.I use the Car App that came pre-loaded on the HTC One and have the handset plugged in to the Aux socket whilst using it to navigate to prevent heavy battery drain. All seems well for first ten mins steady orange light at top of handset showing handset is charging but after 10-15 mins the orange light starts flashing and the battery percentage starts dropping. The orange light is flashing even if there is loads of battery left like 85 to 90%.Any ideas?Charges fine under all other conditions.

Cheers, I had installed that already, it didn't work until I went into Advanced mode and check the 'HTC Redial Fix' box. All is well now :D

Just wondering what accessories has everyone for there HTC One? I'm on the hunt for a MHL cable and a dock possibly.

Best bet is to switch to O2 and take a 6 month contract.
    See below thread.
Initial phone cost is €199 if you take the €55 a month option for 6 months.
For this you get 2gb data and unlimited calls+texts.
After your 6 months are up switch to tesco mobile on their 12 month sim only package (10,000 texts, 10,000 mins, unlimited data).
By far the best deal out there.
I took a 2 year deal with three before I saw the below thread :(

Good work, persistence pays! I see that thread uses sneaky's bootloaders. He is awesome, definitely knows his stuff....would have never updated my firmware without his help.

I'm also leaving Vodafone, they're trying to make me go on a more expensive 2 year contract....no thanks.

HTC provide software which includes features such as transferring numbers from an iPhone.

I don't understand the problem. If you don't want notifications then turn them off.
