Did they reveal who was Suicide before his identity was stolen last nite?

Suicide wrestled and won the title. Hogan came out with TJ Perkins claiming TJP was always Suicide. Suicide did a legger but Hogan told him to unmask or be stripped of the title. Suicide unmasked to end the show.

With the reveal of TJP, I'm guessing thats the end of the Suicide character again.

Just seen next week's spoilers and it seems they have given up on the longer term booking and gone back to making it up as they go. Ratings havent been great lately but I was hoping they wouldnt over-react and change what they were doing. Guess that's too much to ask.
Sabin re-gains the X-Division title, making last week a waste of time.

Good god that big lad in the Gutcheck was truelly terrible in the ring even worse then Rob Terry , Which probably means he is getting the contract

^^ I felt for for the "rocker" guy he was paired with. His promo sucked ('I play 27 instruments', so what?), his whole gimmick was stupid and he was clearly there just be squashed. Even the commentators were barely mentioning him during the match.

It's obvious he is getting picked at least. Howe got hardly any time on offence but did a decent enough job I thought. Ohriner's gimmick is exactly the same as Rob Terry it seems. A better talker maybe.

I thought it was good. Unlike the majority of the guys who appear on it who are playing the sympathy card. Joey Ryan is one of the few I can think of with an actual gimmick for his Gut Check match.

Caught iMPACT this week. My thoughts :
    PROS:
    • TNA's promo packages explaining the B4G series & storylines are clear and informative
    • Bully Ray is a convincing Bully. Intimidating wrestlers backstage was actually quite believable. A+8s look much better in backstage vignettes rather than jobbing clean in the ring.
    • Happily surprised to see Magnus get the upset win over Roode. I'm surprised he's over as much as he is.
    • Even though it won't help anyone get over, the new MEM angle is interesting enough.
    • Aries in the main event is great, and as a one night storyline, 'who is suicide?' was pretty cool. Aries having his mask misaligned (because he's not used to wearing a mask) was a nice little touch.

    CONS:
    • Taz, by God, I hate him amusing himself on commentary. Wow.
    • Gut check stars Ryan Howe and The Big O are poor wrestlers. Every 2 months is more than enough.
    • Hogan bringing out the 'real' suicide TJ was disappointing - killing the real Suicide reveal. It means there's absolutely no reason for him to wear the mask/suit from this point forward. (It was a means to hide his identity/strike fear into his opponents)
    • It's not news, but Velvet is a poor wrestler & actress. Mickie James couldn't do much with her. Some of the stalling exchanges were cringe-worthy!
    • People (especially James Storm) need to stop yelling into the mic. And the "bro-mance" joke was horrendous.
    • No AJ, Hardy or Bad Influence. The latter need to be on every show.

Even though there's a ton of negatives, the overall show is pretty decent! It's just a cold product right now.

When the BFG series is on its a bit like Smackdown in that its a good show but is entirely skipable.

    Bad Influence are FABULOUS.
Was Kim vs Tarrell II on last nites show?
Thats right near the top of my most anticipated matches.

That's next week, this week is Sabin vs. Aries vs. TJP.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

The Sabin/Aries portion of the main event this week is just tremendous. A better show than usual overall.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Once Manik went, that match was awesome. Hopefully they will give the X-Division more focus in future after that showing. It's a great tool for them to have instead of forgetting about it for months on end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Gail vs Taryn in the ladder match is tonight. No reason it shouldnt be the main event, but they are also doing a Joker's Wild thing in the BFGS so I'm guessing that will be the main event instead.

The next Main Event Mafia member should also be revealed. It's
    Rampage Jackson
    .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 327 ✭✭Hematocyte

Last night they had a 6-man Gauntlet match. All 6 competitors were announced beforehand. 5 have already entered the ring. Then Tenay says "We are just five seconds away from finding out who's next ...... "

Incidentally in the same match Taz described AJ Styles excellent tactical reading of a particular situation as "predetermined". He was trying to compliment Styles but probably could have used a better word, Tenay all but took him to task on it. :D

I have to say I am genuinely entertained by how amateurish TNA Impact is. It's like watching a real life version of that 'WTF' episode of South Park :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Have to say Taz was right about Tenay taking too long. He was rambling on and on and on and on while saying very little. Someone of his expierence should know better.

    Very good match.

Whoever put together the match deserves special praise as does the Knockouts for executing it they rolled back the clock ladder psychology wise and made it relevant to modern times, the feud and to female performers. Owed more to Wrestlemania X than Wrestlemania X7.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one who thought that when Taryn Terrell joined that she would never be able to have a good match. I admit I was wrong

I'm pretty sure everybody had low expectations for Terrell. If they announced a Kim/Terrell ladder match in March nobody would've cared, they announce one in June and people are legitimately excited for it.

Anyone think DOC was the one to join MEM? Although i can def see him joining or turning on the Aces and 8's

Really enjoyed that ladder match and a hat tip to whoever came up with the finish. Not sure if it's been done before but I've never seen it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

Just watched the ladder match (will watch the rest of the show later in the week). Really enjoyed it, every blow mattered and they took their time. Granted the latter may be due to the fact they were women in a very physical style of match but it was very enjoyable.

Dutt vs. Homicide vs. Petey, Manik vs. King vs. Chavo, and Jigsaw vs. Spud vs. Trent Baretta all set for iMPACT! tonight as well as Aries vs. Roode in a BFG Series match and Sabin vs. Bully for the title.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,089 ✭✭✭✭rovert

    Trent?

If Chavo wins the X Title i'm gonna be 84% more angry than usual.

    I've asked around whether
Shelley and Sabin are still friends. I know Alex doesn't tweet about Wrestling on a current affairs type basis and I understand him for washing his hands of TNA. But he said nothing about Chris's title win bar a very indirect comment and some TNA fans pointed out they don't follow each other on Twitter. Would be sad if they we no longer were. I know more people who know Alex more than Chris.

He spent most the last 24hrs talking about Earthbound and RPGs.

Pretty loaded show set for next week aswell with Styles vs. Hardy, Manik vs. Dutt vs. Trent in an Ultimate X match, Gail vs. Mickie, Daniels vs. Joe and Anderson vs. Hernandez.

And they're doing a Hardcore Justice special on August 15th with
the Sabin/Bully rematch in the cage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

1.5m viewers for last nights show, first time they've managed to move the rating in a while (the wonders of heavily hyping a show with a main event).

That's very good. I dont follow the ratings as much as I used to, but they were always around the 1 million mark whenever I checked recently. Unless I picked bad weeks, I assumed that to be the average, in which case it's a 50% increase!

It was a very good show too, so hopefully they hold the majority of them.

Delighted that Sabin won but have a feeling he wont be champ for long . Would love to see AJ vs Sabin or Aries vs Sabin at BFG for the title .

Presume they will go with Dutt to win the X-Division title next week

TNA are doing a vote for which set of BFG Series matches will be on the August 1st and 8th iMPACT!'s. Vote here and here's the cards:

    Card #1
    Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson
    Magnus vs. Samoa Joe
    AJ Styles vs. Bobby Roode
    Joseph Park vs. Hernandez
    Austin Aries vs. Christopher Daniels
    Frankie Kazarian vs. Jay Bradley

    Card #2
    Austin Aries vs. AJ Styles
    Mr. Anderson vs. Magnus
    Christopher Daniels vs. Frankie Kazarian
    Bobby Roode vs. Hernandez
    Joseph Park vs. Jay Bradley
    Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Hardy

    Card #3
    Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries
    Jeff Hardy vs. Hernandez
    Jay Bradley vs. Bobby Roode
    Magnus vs. Frankie Kazarian
    Mr. Anderson vs. Joseph Park
    AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels

Tough choice with all three cards having something worthwhile, went with 2 myself purely because of Aries vs. Styles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Joe vs Aries is all I really want from card 3 so was able to rule that out quick enough. 1 & 2 were tough to decide between. Went with 2 aswell for Aries vs Styles and Daniels vs Kazarian.

Watching last weeks impact now. Enjoyed the 3 triple threat matches and Roode vs Aries. Mickie James' gimmick is an absolute riot, she plays the role absolutely perfect.

Another good show this week, really enjoyed Hardy/Styles. Anywho:

    Who's it going to be?

I try to avoid Spoilers but was Kim vs 'my new favourite wrestlah' Mickie James good.
I hope that ain't black reign
    :p

I have no sound right now and the picture doesnt give away much. Anyone feel like a summary?

It was. Not as good as the two Gail vs Taryn matches but still very good. Gail is in great form lately.
If she can get the same quality from ODB then she deserves a title made specifically for her.

It was a mystery person with a distorted voice saying they don't work for Tna or Spike (like that narrows it down lately). They have a problem that needs to be solved and are coming August 1st. I am no Batman but it sounds like it is two seperate people talking.

From all the suggestions I've seen, the two that fit the best with what we can see (in my eyes anyway) are Adam Pearce or Low Ki.

I'd be very happy indeed with Low Ki.

I'd really like Adam Pearce, and if it was him, it'd make sense as to why they didn't run the vignette on Impact, as he wouldn't be a big enough name to justify the telly time. Well, and the fact he was a Gutcheck guy.

It also looks like a silhouette of Bob Holly. Fear it, kids.

Holly was on the recent ONO show so it wouldnt really be a surprise.
