Currently at 4.625ghz with 4770K, HT on, maxing out at 88 degrees under load. Scoring 9.85 in Cinebench, if I had better RAM (running at 1666mhz (13.33multi cos base clock is 125 mhz)) I could scrape past the score of a stock Xeon X5570 (10.33). I think I can get 4.7 out of this with a bit of tweaking. Happy enough with that :). Maybe more if I'm lucky and my current OC voltages are overkill :)

I was looking at the mobo manual there

Have you tried pressing the memokay button?

Seems to me there's somthing up with the ram

    edit

make sure the ram is sitting in right and if they are move them to the other slots. Could be a cpu fault too

Is it just today your having the problem or what? How old is it?

Perhaps check the timings etc. in the bios, you may have to manually set them

I took off the side panel and its actually the cpu light that's on when it happens.I Can't believe this is happening.

    hmm

Try resetting the cmos using the jumper first before going near timings

Also are you getting any beeps on startup at all?

Also did you do what was said above?

For the timings I found this video, not sure is the same layout as your mobo bios but gives you an idea

When it happens theres no beeps at all, I didn't get a chance to do what was said above yet,I've booted it up twice this morning and no problems what so ever.

I wouldn't have though 3x7970s could run such a ludicrous resolution.

    I didn't even think 3 titans could.

I suspect the reason they went with Dirt 3 is an easy enough game to run system requirements wise, and I would think 3 titans would struggle to run anything intensive at over 30-40 fps. Might take 2 to 3 generations of GPU's to catch up.

    Still though, 24883200 pixels :)

Alright lads, have a question about windows and didnt want to start a new thread for it.

Bought a copy of windows 7 home premium 64 bit for my pc and now im changing the motherboard.
Just wondering what would be the best way to install the OS?
Would I need to totally wipe everything from ssd and do a reinstall that way?
Or can I just change the board and leave evrything the way it is?

Also, this is the copy of windows I bought, is this copy limited to just one motherboard? I keep seeing things about OEM copies coming and being limited to one board.

Best option is to back up all your files etc., change the mobo and do a fresh install, especially if its a different make of board, chances are the chip set drivers are different.

if its an ORM copy, you will have to phone microsoft to re-activate it, should not be no problem, tell them you had to change your board as it was faulty.

I know microsoft have to combat piracy to protect profits etc but a lot of there policies are extremely harsh!!
I mean I have one copy of windows I should be aloud use it on one pc, not only the FIRST pc I install it on!! Even changing a motherboard contravines there licence agreement!!!

I own very few apple products because I dont like the way they control how you use what they consider THERE hardware, even though youve paid through the nose for it!!

I really see microsoft heading that direction with THERE software and as a company as a whole.
Just have to look at some of the policies they thought would be a good idea for XboxOne.....

    Sorry rant over.....

And thanks for the info glynf, ill follow your suggestions:)

I'm looking to replace my computer desk.

What would be my options in Ireland that are relatively inexpensive but still pretty solid build-quality?

    Thanks

I got one of these desks from Viking Direct. Its sturdy but only one and a half foot deep. There is plenty of room for a monitor and keyboard. If you spend over 75 Euro delivery is free. You will have to invent a business name but that's no big deal. I bought this office chair to avail of free delivery, and it is the best chair I've ever owned.

I'm looking for something narrower with a keyboard shelf. I might very well pick up the Berlin chair though. Thanks.

    1. Dust
    2. Undervolt
    3. Improve thermals in the case and/or room

@ EoinHef, can't blame em re. piracy, much as MS can be a pain in the hole, as a gamer there are not many other OS options (yet-though Linux is getting there).
