    2-0 Samaras, 4 yard header
    Celtic Football Club ‏@celticfc 32s

    70. Samaras makes it two Euro goals in two games by heading down Commons' pass. It bounces before going over the line. 2-0 and 5-0 on agg.

All tricky enough but we should be able to beat all those teams at that stage of the season.

    EDIT
    Celtic Football Club ‏@celticfc 4m

NL: 'Thankfully, a clean bill of health & Mulgrew, Matthews and Ledley all trained this week. Try and give them game-time at wknd." (MH)
    Celtic Football Club ‏@celticfc 25s

NL: 'Gary looked bright and has looked bright in training. Will give him run out on Saturday. No developments as far as I'm aware of.' (MH)

    Good news I suppose

this whole hooper thing is strange, why bring him in today after the fixture was tied up if hes going to be leaving? its not as if they are trying to bump up the price everybody knows that 5 million + and hes yours

Playing him now isnt going to see his price fall and getting Hooper fit and playing gives us a better chance of progressing through the qualifiers than not. Why shouldnt we use him if he's not distracted?

well its not normal for a manager to come out and say he has probably played his last game for us and then bring him on a week later is what I'm saying.

His last game comment was referring to tonight. Lennon is looking to convince him to stay so he's giving him every chance to change his mind and sign a new contract. Relegating him to training and playing with the development squad would end all hope of keeping him. Our position grows stronger whilst his grows weaker, I'm happy that we aren't trying to rush things

    It's what he implied

"Has he played his last game for Celtic? Never say never but it’s looking more and more that way.”

That's what it sounded like to me also.

Can you be cup-tied from playing in qualifiers? (Not that it would affect QPR lol).

I was fairly sure he said that comment after he said he'd be involved in the 2nd leg of the Cliftonville Game.

There is a limit of 1 player that can be registered that has played in previous rounds of qualifiers.

Don't want to start a panic but can anyone confirm or deny the rumours that Samaras has shaved off his beard?

He could do with some pointers from Pirlo in that regard. Samaras definitely has the potential for maintaining a beard. Was a great effort from Hartley a few years back.

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11781/8837796/transfer-news-celtic-want-gary-hooper-to-stay-after-nottingham-forest-interest

Read this epic fail of an article from Sky! It trumps some of the muck that comes from the Scottish Media!
    don't think so

The rules have changed, you are allowed 1 that hasnt played in the same round of european competition you will be playing going forward. See the registration boo boo Real Madrid made when signing Lassana Diarra & Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

    EDIT

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23428680
Celtic manager Neil Lennon hopes to add at least one more new signing ahead of next week's Champions League qualifier against Elfsborg.

But he dismissed as "just speculation" reports that it would be Wolves striker Kevin Doyle.

"That's the main thing we are looking at now - trying to add to the squad, predominantly before Thursday if we can," Lennon told BBC Scotland.

"We're looking at a number of options for a number of positions."

Asked, following the 5-0 aggregate win over Cliftonville , what those positions might be, he replied: "Striker, midfield, left-back - because Emilio Izaguirre could do with a rest now and again - and maybe a left-sided player as well."

He said he wanted a player in by Thursday in the prematch conference which suggests to me that they are negotiating a contract with someone under the radar or they will look to get a player on loan so the paperwork will be completed for the registration deadline.

Gimme Rudnevs over Doyle! Also a left sided play is needed because Izzy is going to burn out at the rate he's going.

New Hooper bid from QPR accepted

There's a huge amount of vitriol being thrown Hooper's way on twitter because his club have decided to accept an offer for him from another club.

The vitriol is probably because he's taking a step backwards in his career for money.

He hasn't moved yet and if Celtic don't want to cash in on him then they don't have to. He signed a contract and has honoured it.

Isn't he nowhere near the top earners at the Club?

He is honouring it but he's shown no desire to commit long term to the club so they will cash in rather than let him become a free agent. Getting well over twice what we paid for a striker thats into his final year of contract represents good business for Celtic.

He could have signed a contract last year and the year before to become one of the top earners at the club but refused. He has made his bed, he can go lie in it.

Still don't get why his only options were Hull and QPR given that he was pursued by Norwich last January. He should sack his agent. He should have got a move to a middle tier more established EPL side with his ability, CL experience and the fact that he is a potential England international who has already been called up for an England squad.

I'm glad that the saga is over, get him replaced asap.

I don't get this grudge, why would he stay? He can earn three or four times elsewhere what he would at celtic. Obviously he's leaving a bigger club, European football, and sacrificing silverware, but for the chance to triple his salary, he's doing what any other player would

He's also probably in a position whereby he feels he's gone as far as he can with celtic, time for a new challenge and probably more importantly, an opportunity to get picked up by one of the EPL's bigger clubs, because as has been shown, that wasn't going to happen at celtic

Norwich are now odds-on to sign him with Skybet (for whatever that means). QPR were out to 4/1 a few minutes ago but they've been backed back in to 2/1. Someone must know something.

It's sky bet, the tenner I put on it was probably enough to shorten the odds

Oh I know, but putting QPR out to 4s seemed odd. They were opening themselves up if they haven't heard something.

I think that there is genuine puzzlement if he doesn't get a move to a middle tier established EPL outfit. It doesn't really matter where he goes when he leaves but he shouldn't need to step back to the Championship in order to get a move to a middle ground EPL side. If he ends up at Norwich that would make a bit more sense than returning to the Championship or going to a cannon fodder side like Hull.

He's been a good player for Celtic. Whoever gets him will be getting a good striker who has improved his game at Celtic with CL experience, and has developed the potential to get caps for his country up here.

I agree, but there's a lot of money at qpr, and they've a decent chance of going back up so the move makes sense, particularly from a financial perspective

What I don't get in why the animosity?

The animosity is pointless but it's not the first time that a player would get a hard time from fans of a club that they are leaving. This has been a protracted move and if after all that he ends up back in the Championship having been heavily linked with EPL sides like Norwich and Southampton before, it wont make sense. If he goes to Norwich that would make a bit more sense.

I think qpr makes as much sense as Norwich, in that its not prestige, silverware or European football he's moving for, its money and in that regard I'd imagine qpr are as, if not more appealing then Norwich.

Couple that with the attraction of living in London, near enough where he's from, over Norwich, a city in which the appeal has been greatly reduced since the controversial pedestrianisation of the city centre
