    And still no answer to my question. Mentioning serious, but rating the banter. While not mutually exclusive, they don't tend to go together.

    BTW if the OP is in any way implying that the sort of behaviour witnessed on another genuinely serious thread here tonight is indicative of the usual attitude to such topics then it is sorely mistaken. Most people know (as on that thread) when it is appropriate and how not to be dicks, and those that don't soon find it's kicking out time.:(

    If the OP is looking for serious threads to be given the respect they deserve, then he should look toward the countless other "serious" sub-forums on this site.

    After Hours is in it's very nature a casual sub-forum for casual discussions. Many of the same topics that are discussed here are often discussed in more suitable sub-forums and given the respect they deserve, so maybe you should head over there.
