If the 147 had a 2.0 engine I would be surely tempted... or start dreaming and hope for a GTA 147 to come along :)

These are actually based on the 626 platform and not the 6.

    Now that's value

Indeed - but such is the power of the Golf name here in dear old Ireland.

Reckon if you put the Golf name on an old Lada Riva - theyd still sell lorry loads of them so the masses could say "I drive a golf :D.

5 years ago a bog standard base petrol 10 year old Golf would have sold for €7k no problem :D

All three are buckets of sh1te tbh and those renaults won't seem like good value if they start giving issues.

question is can it be remapped?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,372 ✭✭✭Saab Ed

    DO IT!

Callled my mechanic yesterday. Told him to get my classic 900 ready so I can drive it again. Otherwise I might have made a different call. Seriously tempted though. The holy grail of modern Saab ownership.

I seen one on n11 once it was blue afik definitly got my attention i stalked it for miles:cool:.

Sadly im broke or that would be on my driveway.:o.
I wonder why its been off the road for so long.Looks like an original Irish car from new too

Beautiful cars & probably my favourite engine ever.

no lag, no vibrations, nothing but seamless power in every gear at any speed .

I had it in a previous 9000 where it shone, its just a shame the 93 & NG900 chassis is so lacking any finesse.. even though they uprated the viggen chassis & firewall area a little more than standard 93 aeros afik

its worth more than 1950 in rare parts alone too

E60 2.5l petrol BMW. Nothing wrong with a Saab 9-5 but 2 years without owning a BMW is too long for me :)
    Is she a daysul?

God no, a 2l turbo petrol. Taxed till end September, NCT till end May '14, all 4 brand new tyres a few months ago. Only 78k miles!

Oil + filter changed last week!

To make up for it, this has cropped back up with a different seller.

THing is anyone following alfa v6's (theres a few of us) know that this was 850 with a different seller last week.

Hmmm, I may be mad asking this but for someone who's clocked up over 60,000 & counting miles in a year and a half, would you recommend it? Hence the question of fuel type

40k miles per year is a lot! I'm no fan of diesel but if I did mileage like that, I would probably go diesel too. That said, the 9-5 petrol is frugal enough on longer spins. I did nearly 40MPG on a 3 day trip to Wexford recently. You'd only get 25MPG in Dublin traffic though...
