I agree about the E34, that's just not a car to modify, most BM's shouldn't have more than engine work and wheels etc. done IMO. Just doesn't suit them.

Oh yes, subtle is the key. They look well standard, very 80s

Just a wheel change and drop.... I'm thinking of it....

I just wanted an excuse to put up some E34's

I wonder do they know it's a death trap.

its not really a hazard, sure i got it through an NCT with no bother or fails before i got rid of it :pac:

i'd be more worried about the inside of it where some stains might be and where they originated from

Do like those Civic alloys, though. If anyone has a set lying around I'd love to take them off you.

So you did buy! Excellent

For me, it depends on the vehicle what style I'd do it up. However my E34 is staying as standard as possible, it was very well kept and most of he bits with it. Only visual difference is the numberplate backing, reflector. Quite rare to find ;)

On another note, I'm starting to lose faith in a lot of things recently. I must get my head examined again..... :(

yeah I keep everything on mine as standard as possible

The older bmw's are like fine wine, if it ain't broken don't fix it, and besides, if you modify an older car like dgt's......it's like making your grandmother get a boob job :o

In other news, was going along the motorway with the brother and we seen a 132 micra and he goes "a 132 Micra? Rolling them windows up in style!" :pac:

I need to rant, some gobsheen in a corsa for the 2nd time in 4 days parked right up against my drivers door and has scratched my mirror this time. I dont know how they got out of their car as they had parked between 2 cars but not in an actual space its just lines between the spaces. I was so close to writing them a nice letter and telling them to go to specsavers as they obviously cant see that they didnt park in a space. I've taken the reg of the car and if i find them parked beside me ever again i'm seriously gonna lose the plot.

Why are most boardies here so obsessed with BMW's. They almost all look the same. I think the last 15 year they are behind other car manufacturers in styling.
I do like them but don't see why people here are obsessed with them. Every second frequent poster has one

I'd be in the same place, I like them to an extent but I really don't get the BMWanking.

Most do nothing for me as they are a flat black, on small 16s and cheap ass leather.

But spend a bit on speccing one properly and they can look something, even the E8X 1 series.

i was in a pettitts supervalu car park there the other week, seen a corsa b with 3 wagins getting out of it parked up next to a 10 or 11 reg noticably detailed/ maintained c class merc. corsa driver wallops her door off the merc.

the door hit off the merc so hard it cracked off the mirror casing and became wedged in the curve between the mirror and the door so it was stuck fast. after a couple of seconds flailing with the door the corsa driver says to her passenger "go keep a look out there quick, while i reverse the car back to free it".

the free'd it and casually walked off. felt like leaving the mercedes driver a note, but didn't. in hind sight i probably should have.

    ignorant parkers are so frustrating.

agreed on the BMW thing. some are nice, but most are meh at best. personal preference of course (and nothing more) but i don't think there's a single day to day e46 model i would drive.

at the time I was buying my car I was actually looking for a e46 320d but it's so hard to find one in good condition seen my current car on DD close to home, so went for a look and the rest is history.

I wouldn't be mad on bmw's either, the only one I'd even consider owning is a 00-04 m3 and that would be a far fetched dream

    I'd like a Z4M, I think it's because they look like 240Z's though. :pac:

If you ask me bmw's have lost their "exclusiveness" They've become the new avensis, when I was smaller and seen a bmw I'd actually be amazed because it was a bmw and you rarely seen them, nowadays, not so much

Reminds me of when I was in McDonald's in waterford a few months ago I was waiting for food and this women comes up to me and says do you drive a red ford van I said yes and her face starts to turn red the she calls out the reg 08... I said that's not mine she walks of.

As I go back to the car park I see a red connect parked beside her qashqai and the driver of the van literally hit from the start of the rear door the whole way to the front wing. The whole side of the Nissan bet in covered in red paint and the driver left the van there. To make it worse the qashqai was only a year old and really spotless well minded. I felt sorry for the women the damage was unreal two doors completely dented in.

Current gen Mercedes and Jags are a are a much exclusive cars realy don't see to many on the roads compared to BMers and Audi's. Love the look of the current gen of Jags.

Well that's just plainly wrong. Sure, the paddy spec 316d/520d is not always the most innovative on steel wheels etc. But I do think that, even the most anti-bmw people can't deny the e39 is a timelessly beautiful car. The e60 in the right spec is not too far behind. In terms of sheer aggressive lines the e60 m5 and the f10 m5 are two of my all time favorite car designs. I dont think they will ever replicate the e39 but I think in terms of the bland mass produced cars out there these days the bmws are in the top three for sheer beauty in style and design.

Seriously - I can usually see both sides of an argument but I really can't see how they are behind in styling. I am dumbfounded.

I would but I aint subscribing hehe. Plus it would need to incorporate turbo diesel in there somewhere :P

While this XF and XJ are way prettier cars than the previous gen's S type and X type, there is no prettier jag than the old XKR and the older style XJ8

The E60 in my opinion is one of the worst looking BMW's from the front and rear any how those lights .
    ;)
But looks are every thing when it comes to BMWs ;)

celtic tiger days meant more and more people were buying them, mostly low spec though.

these cars are then sold and resold and so on until they are over 15 years old and selling for a few hundred and in bits and anyone is driving them

BMWs are nice just too many rustbuckets and low spec ones on the roads here
