    I don't get it

Neither do I, it was the 2nd time the cow came through the roof you'd think he'd have learned his lesson. And an asbestos roof, can you explain the logic in that or was he just so hard up

bit ironic, granted a cow fell on him in his sleep but R.I.P...
    Ironic? Unfortunate certainly, but ironic....?

What do you know that we don't?

    :D

Would have thought a falling cow would only graze a bit

    What a way to go:eek:

A cow has fallen through the roof of a house in south-eastern Brazil killing a man and narrowly missing his wife.

That's what happens when the steaks are too high.

All of the above posters are way funnier than I could ever be, but not as funny as they think they are.

    RIP to the poor guy.

4 pages in and nothing but puns ... Really shows you what After Hours (or perhaps boards entirely?) is like, huh.

I don't mean to be buzz killington here. But a man died and everyone just seems to be trying to out-do each other with the puns. I can't help but feel that if this happened somewhere in Ireland, mods would be banning everyone. But why should location be a deciding factor on things.

A man died because some stupid cow walked onto his roof. The wife is now a widow. It's not really the most funniest of things when you read the story.

Very similar story to this movie, where the chinese fella's missus was killed by a cow falling from a plane.

Except it didn't happen in Ireland, it happened in South Eastern Brazil. Do you know anyone in the favelas down there captain righteous? I doubt anyone that knows the poor bloke will be on this looking to be offended.

Don't have a cow, man. You're just coming off as moooody.

    So it's ok because he's poor/from a poor area?

Didn't say that did I? Just saying its very unlikely that anyone from there would be on an Irish site looking at our posts so that posters' outrage is a bit pretentious.

Honestly, if I went onto the Gandolfini thread, and made a pun, possibly something to do with his being Italian, usually playing a Mafia type character, that some of his family or friends might see it? If I did, I'd be derided and possibly/probably modhammered out of it.

Don't get me wrong, I chuckled at the puns, I really did. It's just double standards like this that makes me dislike Boards.

That's not what he was getting at. Causing offense is not the issue.

If someone dies down your road, its a tragedy; if someone dies anywhere other than in popular Europe or North America, most struggle to form any kind of empathy. A person is a person.

You might think this thread is just inconsequential dark humour, so its all grand, but it reflects something more serious.
