Just under 6 foot and about 12 stone.

When i did eat a lot of veg (raw carrotts, brocolli, beans, home made veg soup with barley and lentils, sweetcorn, peas mixed into my food, cooking with onions and peppers all the time) I felt no better than i do now.

I got the same feeling eating what i do now and taking a vitamin tablet.

Its terrible but Im now going to the doc hoping they will find something!

Have you ever spent a sustained period eating a healthy diet? Eating lots of veg will leave you tired if you're short on calories, and eating almost nothing but garbage will leave you tired from sugar crashes.

Go to a doctor, but no matter what he says you desperately need to improve your diet. If you're diabetic? Improve your diet. Coeliac? Improve your diet. Underactive thyroid? Improve your diet. Because your current diet is utterly awful.

I can eat chocolate and crisps and full sugar fizzy drinks with no exercise and feel the same if not better than if I have veg stir fry and go cycling for the evening!

Which is hilarious, because just about the only thing that can justify a high-carb, high-sugar diet is intensive exercise. Going by your description of your diet, I'd guess that if you were eating loads of veg and doing lots of exercise you were running a pretty severe calorie deficiency.

Serious question: have you actually ever sat down and worked out what you should be eating for what you're doing?

Im telling you, he's different to everybody else. That's why. He's the only person in history who can do this, so he is a evolving into a higher being. My money is on butterfly, but it could also be a hummingbird or bee.

    Time will tell.

Good point, i never thought of that. If thats the case then i should be putting on weight tho? My carbs are high and theyre the bad type so i shud weigh more than i do now if i have a predominantly office type job with little exercise. My weight hasnt changed much for the past 10 or more years and ive ate whatever i wanted to for long periods of time.

Give me an example of a good lunch? Im in work, ive brought an uncle bens rice in with me. Theres a sandwich shop around the corner, what can i get today from them instead of the rice, bearing in mind they may have a lot of different types of veg on the menu. Mostly salad.

So much for you changing your diet. You've ignored all the advice on Uncle Bens microwave lunches. Go into the shop and get a salad. Chicken, spring onion, lettuce, cucumber, boiled egg, mayo, what ever other salad things you like. Don't get a wrap, don't get bread. I'd be very surprised if you felt sleepy after that.

go to a different shop, bring a healthy lunch with you.

You're a grown man raising a child, you shouldn't need to be babied like this.

Do you need us to walk to the shop with you as well? do you need help counting the change? hang on before you eat your dinner til I cut it up for you.

Thats a pretty obvious answer. Yes salad is healthy, thank you.

What kind of salad? Should i include egg? Try to eat more meat for protein? SHould I have any bread/ wheaten bread/ brown bread? Are there any sauces that i need to avoid? Should i get full fat mayo? Will it raise my blood suagr levels too much?Is cheese out of the question? Should i steer clear of potatoes?

What can i get that will fill me up for the next 4-5 hours?

Which bit of don't get bread do you not understand. A big bowl of salad will fill you up.

Someone posted on here a few days back that ina nother thread bread is just to keep your hands clean, and after the invention of the fork it should have become redundant. Don't fill up on empty calories, which bread is, fill up on good, nice tasting things.

Go to a doctor and ignore this crap about your diet. 99% of the time its a medical reason. Your diet isn't that bad. Just add a few pieces of fruit or extra veg and improve your dinner slightly

I suggest you read the thread before leaping in. He went to the doctor last july, and the tests came back negative.

If you don't think his diet is bad you should read some stickies as well.

Anyway, at this point, Im done. Good luck OP.

You're eating three and a half times as much sugar as you should. You're eating virtually zero fruit and veg. Your diet is awful.

I have banana and an orange nearly every day. Not great but its not nothing.

Today i ditched the uncle bens rice for a salad.

Got lettuce, cucumber, boiled egg , spring onion, full fat mayo, some ham and chicken and a piece of wheaten bread.

Mayo was lovely i must admit. Not as daunting eating all that as it tasted great.

Had nothing more than a bottle of water with it and didnt have a yoghurt or a go ahead either!

Now sit and see what happens this afternoon.

Over an hour now since i ate that and im still yawning and still feel tired, dont feel any different atm.

Maybe it takes some time to get into my system tho.

It'll take a bit longer than one day Im afraid. When you've eaten so many processed foods for so long it'll take a bit of time for your body to come around. And you're probably gonna feel worse before you feel better, you just gotta have faith and stick with it.

Thanks for your advice. Ill stick to it then. Im just looking for a different reaction to the food and the tiredness i feel afterwards.

It's not a day, it's a sandwich. and not even a great sandwich.

Sensor, you are deluded if you think this half hatred attempt is going to change anything. You've had probably decades of bad food ruining your system, eating a few lettuce leaves and a boiled egg ain't fixing anything.
Despite constant mentions of gluten intolerance your first action was get bread.

At this stage I think even the sandwich itself would have more of an understanding of nutrition.

Just dont go for the easy fix of junk food. You'll feel brand new for a few hours then you'll crash and burn, thats why you feel so wiped out all the time.
Theres other factors aswell like stress, how much exercise and quality sleep youre getting, plus overall happiness with your life and the way its going. Nothing will wear you out quicker than living a life you're not really happy with.

Long thread and havent read through it all so sorry if this was already mentioned, but have you seen the doc supersize me? check out the mood swings yer man Spurlock begins to get each side of his McDonalds fix.
Now in no way am I saying what you are eating is like eating nothing but McDonalds, but it just shows the way the body responds to overly processed crap, you can feel great for a short while and then wrecked again afterward.
If haven't watched it, I'd highly recommend.

Yes i saw that, how his liver and kidney function was affected. Ive only shown a small bit of my diet. I am aware of processed food and take some care not to have frozen/ microwave food all the time.

As i say ive visited a butchers every week for a very long time for fresh meat. I owuld have slow cooked dinners with beef, tomatoes, onions, carrots, mashed potatoe etc like everyone else. I gave up i must admit and just ate watever i wanted because it made no difference.

I just feel so wrecked after eating. Its like a haze over my mind and i feel like a good yawn every few minutes.

Ive been cycling, playing football and running on a weekly basis and nothing seems to lift it until . . .

a chippie and a can of fanta last sunday night and i felt great monday morning!

    Thank you very much :)

I still feel steam rollered atm. Might take gluten out altogether now.

So far today ive had porridge for brekkie with a glass of fizzy water. Belvita biscuits, cup of tea no sugar + a banana and a salad for lunch.

This could be a minefield but I have a dinner 2nite in a local indian. Any ideas what to eat? Cant not go. :D

You're in luck, indian food is very vegetable based and can be very healthy.

Try to choose side dishes of vegies.
    avoid deep fried dishes.
Maybe tandoori style fish or chicken with some extra veg.
Tandoori is a yoghurt based so should be a good balance of protein, fat and carb.

What about the sauce? Too much full fat cream? And shud i steer clear of the nan bread?
