    1. Overhaul of gun play to open up new styles of shooting while playing
    2. In addition to left and right aiming and triggering, there is run and shoot
    3. When engaged in combat, character's default speed switches to combat jog for improved mobility
    4. Each character's personality is reflected in their movements and use of weapons: Trevor's aggressiveness, Franklin's swagger and Michael's efficiency
    5. Gun play still GTA-based at core, but have used other studios to bring aspects of RDR and MP3 over
    6. Overhaul of aiming system to make game more immersive, split into 3 modes with hard lock removed: assisted, traditional and free aim
    7. Car can be used as cover by getting out and staying low to avoid exposure
    8. Wide range of weapon modifications available in Ammunation such as clips, grips, tints and other attachments
    9. Some missions request you to customise vehicles in a certain way, the rest is up for experimentation
    10. Vehicle customisation taken a lot further than in GTA SA
    11. Pay & Spray not in game - replaced by Los Santos Customs stores that are located throughout the map
    12. More than 1000 vehicle modifications available, both cosmetic and performance
    13. You can take a photo of your finished vehicle and upload it to Social Club

Is it me, or does the gun combat look a hell of a lot more like what R* done with Max Payne 3, the weapons wheel and all? Not a bad thing it has to be said!

Los Santos customs? I'd rather they used pay and spray. It's such an iconic place in the GTA series, like Ammunation.

      Meh.

      :pac:

I'll have two week's holiday's left by the time this comes out. Think I'm going to have to put in for them, or at least for one week.

You mean the place where the car was being modded? Pay 'n Sprays were never used for that, just repairs. Transfender was the place for vehicle upgrades in SA.

They would repair a car and change it's color, and help you evade the law. But I think it was an iconic place nonetheless.

I think R* games are best played in 'Free Aim' mode. Always gets me more immersed in the game. I thought traditional is basically Hard Lock?

I'm also very impressed with the character-switching mechanism. That was one of the things I was looking forward to seeing in the trailer. It really does seem very fast and slick.

Its probably been asked a million times but what are amazon like for pre orders? On day arrival or day after?

After, well after. Royal Mail has slowed down in the past month. Amazon never deliver on release day outside the UK anyway.

Online with gamesnash or gamestop will have it delivered on release day.

For the car modification, some of the stuff is locked in the video. Guessing you wont be able to get everything until well into the game.

Would there be any chance of them doing what some other games are trialling by introducing ingame purchases using real money?

      Pretty good analysis here:

Bloody work! Not only did I not get to see this yesterday, but I didn't even know it was being released!
Ah well, better watching it at home where I can jizz all over the place rather than at my station.. Again.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the gta online clip yet! Wonder will everyone get their own place and be able to pimp it out?

On the scene that shows the deer through the sniper scope, it has a wind direction and speed on the bottom corner. Wonder do we have to take that into account?

GTA IV was a bit of a let down for me, nothing to do once the story was complete, the map was not very explorable. It was also very dull in appearance, GTA V looks like the complete opposite and I for one just cannot wait, what is it now? 68 days? :P

They mentioned a hunting mini-game I think, so it's possibly only for that. I didn't notice anything about it when they demoed the mission where you change view to the sniper in the other building.

Wonder is there a safari/hunting park area or how is it going to work as a minigane.

Gotta agree with IV being a bit of a let down. I installed it the other day and can hardly remember any of the city. It is almost all new to me. Whereas I have cleared III, VC and SA at least 2 times each, and the 2nd time I went back, I could remember the layouts pretty easily due to the sheer amount of time I spent mucking about causing havoc. In IV, I just did the missions and left it at that.

Also while driving around, I notice that there are too many roads. Meaning that it seems like half the land surface area is road or rail. Nothing really detrimental, just an observation.

Yeah, what I was getting at was it looks as though 'Los Santos Customs' is replacing Transfender, not Pay 'n Spray.

For example, in SA, Transfender was where cars were modded and PnS was where they were repaired, resprayed etc. I'm just saying that Los Santos Customs may be replacing Transfender, but that doesn't mean they are leaving out Pay 'n Sprays.

Their is no Pay N Spray in GTA5, Can't remember where I seen it but it was a written interview.

I just wonder if you buy a house with Michael, will that house be useable with Trevor or Franklin.

      Exclusive Interview with Rockstar:

      • "Over 1,000 car customization options" (Bulletproof tires, armor, etc.)
      • Car will turn up in an impound if left in the street. Must pay a fine to retrieve it
      • You can't directly "weaponize" your car, but there are a lot of little options. (Car leaking petrol and light em up, sticky bombs)
      • Guns will be with you throughout the whole game
      • Customized guns will broaden range of options during missions. (Stealthy vs. loud, Scope, etc.)
      • Moved from static fights to free focus. Quickly switch your focus to other enemies. No longer need to lock on to enemies, although you can lock on if you wish
      • "Hits are much more satisfying"
      • Each character has different animation. Strength stat has a bearing on melee capability
      • Expect really cool destruction/carnage/damage
      • Combat AI much more advance with more knowledge of environment
      • Enemies will behave different by who they are (SWAT is organized, gang members are more "gung ho")
      • 3 protag will feel natural and will not feel like a balancing act, allowing the game to feel more natural. (if Franklin and Michael are in a car, you can drive as Michael, switch to Franklin, and Michael will continue driving)
      • Shooting stat will affect steadiness of aim, amount of ammo you can carry, aim stability, etc. (You can go to the shooting range to increase stat. Also goes up if you kill an enemy. You are rewarded for better kills like head shots)
      • Car horns can be customized
