Fury has agreed and the fight will be announced at a press conference on thursday a cool 5m each regardless of the outcome Fury would have been mad to turn down that much money

Not a chance its 5 million each.

Not a chance its 5 million each.

    That's the figure being reported.

I'd like to know exactly what that consists of. Presumably they're making certain assumptions in relation to PPV buys. It's hard to see them guaranteeing £10m for this.

Why would you think its impossible to be 5 million each, how much did Haye and Wlad got 15 million each for their fight, while i understand that was a bigger fight it wasnt 3 times a bigger fight in terms of hype and interest this will generate i bet the ppv buys will exceed Froch Kessler if it is PPV

Haye is a superb boxer, brilliant ringcraft, wonderful speed & does posses a tasty punch.
it could go the full 12 rounds, but I would expect a unanimous & wide margin win for Haye

That's a bit kind to Haye to be honest, I agree with the speed and he does have good power but Haye has only ever been 12 rounds three times, 1 easy win against a tomato can, one he was easily beaten and scraped a decision in the other. If it did go 12 rounds I'd fancy Fury but I do think Haye will take him out early. He will be too quick for him. Don't think Haye is a superb boxer though.

Still have my doubts that this will go ahead. I'll believe it when fight night comes around I suppose.

David Hayes sky interview. "The guys a bit of a lunatic" "it'll be a great fight...while he's conscious"

Oh they really must hate each other... sigh. I'll never forget when haye fought fraudley and he hated him too until after the fight when they both laughed and joked and thanked each other for the pay day.

Haye not looking too impressed with Fury's antics this morning.

Fury isn't half as funny as he thinks he is.

He is a clown. (Fury) Like a 5 year old child...

Lol what you guys on about i feckin love Fury, he was bang on about Haye's career as a heavy, and how Haye is all about being a celebrity not a fighter have to agree Haye thinks he is the new Dwayne Johnson, hope Fury wins always liked the guy dont no why he gets all the hate i think Fury is damn funny

Fury's gas. He sent Lennox Lewis a message on Twitter saying he "couldn't train a rice pudding." Whatever that means like! Absolutely hilarious, I hope he twats Haye as well.

    (highly unlikely.)

Why is this on Sky box office though..are the paying public that depserate that they are expected to stump up for this?

A guy that was comprehensivley beaten when he stepped up to face a klitschko and another that has not fought anybody of real note.

Should be a good fight but box office material it aint.

Hype wise and name wise in Britain it sure is PPV material. Look at some other matches that were on PPV. Kessler-Froch? I'd rather pay for Haye-Fury! Plus, it's two HW men as well. Syles, appeal, their strengths and weaknesses. Gels very well.

Of course it's box office material. People are going to want to see this fight and most will stump up the cash to do so. Therefore it is indeed a box office fight. Quality of the fighters is irrelevant. Box office is determined by the numbers wanting to see the fight and this match up will deliver those numbers in spades.

I found that press conference mildly amusing. Fury is a funnier man than most but it can be a bit cringe-worthy when he tries too hard.
It is a worthy ppv mainly because of the self promotion of both fighters. I'll pay for it even though it could possibly be a dour affair especially if Haye fight like he did against Valuev and Klitschko or if Fury tries to remain super disciplined like he did against Kevin Johnson.
The atmosphere should be brilliant though which should help. Anyone have any idea what sort of fan split there will be? About 70/30 Haye maybe?

Hopefully Haye batters the head off Fury, which he will. Although Haye isnt top class he is a level above Fury who is an absolute clown of the highest order.

Two lads on ringside now, quality stuff!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,447 ✭✭✭barney4001

why pay for it when it can be viewed here on the net streams

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,172 ✭✭✭wadacrack

Fury has won the war of the words on ringside anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭Alpha Dog 1

Strange that David haye gets so quiet when he's sitting beside tyson! The fact that tyson has got Haye to shut up and listen for me he's already won round 1.

I must say I was mighty impressed with Fury. He's a gas man, and very articulate. Real banter and craic in him. Repeat at 2100 hrs tonight for anyone who has sky sports.

Because you're taking a gamble with these streams. I'd rather pay the few bob for the actual show and coverage that will be pretty much guaranteed.

    +1

For most fights any dodgy stream would suffice, but for this fight I think it's wise to have guaranteed coverage and full hd, and just enjoy the show!
