Bad move. Old style was better.

I dont like it. I am using a skin that looks totally different to it - deliberately because I hate that blocky looking font and ancient "look and feel". Where is the forum menu gone from the top?

Don't really see the problem with it. For the minute or two a day I'd spend on it, it seems to be improved by the additions of the tabs. You can see your threads, favourite forums and most impressively what's trending at a glance.

But what about other forums? How do you see what new threads there are?

Just use the 'latest posts' tab - there's five pages there that update instantly when you click through at the bottom.

    I like it.

Then again, I've never seen the previous homepage so I've nothing to compare it to.

Logged in and thought the site had been hacked and they put up a sh*** page just to annoy evryone

I don't use the homepage at all... I find it annoying. I have my control panel bookmarked and I always start & work from there :P

Guys if you click the number of posts, it brings you to the last unread post on the thread.

I don't really mind it but just a few things..
    • I wish the list was longer rather than having to go to the next page..I hate doing that. If you want to hide something from me, stick it on page 2 of a forum, I'll never find it
    • The 'Last unread post' function would be better if it was beside the thread title
    • You should bring back the 'Last page' button too make sure the 'Last unread post' is MORE accessible
    • I've run out of things to say
    • But I said I have a few things to say
    • Okay this is fine

Edit: Aha! I thought of another one. The line below the thread title 'Latest post less than 1 min ago by Joe Bloggs in XYZ forum'..There seems to be too much in that.

Looks to me like they have made the space for the advertising bigger.

I agree on previously clicking into random threads, it was really interesting. Can't do that now.
No latest post button, no forum on the left -only hidden under the thread title, no number of replies (I think), too few threads on display.

Not to mention I really hate the whole fisher-price theme. I don't like it on touch so I don't use touch, I don't like it on the homepage. Too much white and it hurts the eyes

The number of replies are there, it's the column to the right of the thread name. And if you click on the number of replies it will take you to the latest post :)

Come on guys, be nice. Think about poor Danny, Ronan and the rest of the crew who could read this :(

Nice way of putting it. I wonder how many regular users have chosen to use an old skin because they dont like the old fashioned look and feel of fisher-price?

Ah cheers, the new homepage seems to have disappeared for me so I've only seen it once or twice... enough to know I hate it :p

What's the need to have number of thanks listed for each thread? Completely pointless IMO.

    Change frightens me. :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,012 ✭✭✭stop animal cruelty

No. I used to click on the arrow to go to the last post I'd read in a thread. Now there is no arrow.

aw feck didnt even notice that :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,203 ✭✭✭Mech1

New thread exposure time has been drastically cut due to the list length. This is bound to effect the whole sites number of posts per day.
    Very bad idea I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,246 ✭✭✭pippip

New homepage limits seeing whats happening on threads you might be interested in. Trending threads will only ever show the same few so is relevant to most people.

New homepage just doesn't do what a homepage needs to do. Old one was much better for users

By the looks of the feedback thread this is staying whether we like it or not. Makes you wonder why they asked for feedback.

I wonder how many regular users have chosen to use an old skin..

I'm one. Using 'Classic', whatever the proper name for it is.. I want a clear vista, a live moment, not something that I have to process mentally. If someone has to mull over where they're at, on the homepage, you've lost, as a designer.

Getting used to new stuff is always a pain. Most of us don't like change. I'm saying no but within a fortnight my view could change.

much prefer old style, new one looks shoddy...

Be interesting to see the feedback over a the next few weeks, but 80% negative would have me calling in the designers for a swift "wtf" meeting!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,148 ✭✭✭MickFleetwood

It doesn't bother me that much, I'm sure I'll get used to it. Still prefer the older one, mind.

Changing AH to be my boards landing page.

    God help me.

I prefer the older one. Is there an easy way to revert back to "classic" style ?
