Great cars for the money are Puntos,

    what year is it ?

I presume you assisted in the acquisition of this, it's very clean and straight for the money, and they have a strong shell in the event of an accident.

    Well done DZ

    It's a 2001. 118000 miles.

    Sweet :D

Are the pedal rubbers a bit worn? Can be slippery when wet! Otherwise a set from a 156 Punto should cost the lint of your pocket :)

It's very nice to see one that clean

Not sure if they're worn, don't look it in the picture but the might be. Lint is about the only thing in my pockets:pac:

If it's the 95-01 model you have, they are one of the most reliable cars out there and are very well built.

    It is indeed, a '98.

Anyone know what a realistic ballpark price for this might be with a couple of months tax and an NCT to March next year??

€850? These cars are popular and have a reputation of reliability!

Challange for anyone? Looking for a car for €1000 (if lower great) or possibly up to €1500. Would be lookin for 4 door car, preferably saloon with atleast 6 months nct, anything up to 1.8 but if lower be great. Would be looking for a petrol also. Thanks for any help.

Just in terms of looks I'm talking about, I find it strange because they got the Bravo so right.

Hi just a quick question, What would a Volvo S40 be like reliability wise? Year 2001 1.8 petrol.. Any feedback would be great thanks.

I bought one a few months back, 750e 2001 1.9D sport so 115bhp. Now with the price I knew there would be some niggles but she still had tax on her but the NCT was out for a month before I got it.
In the time I've had I've had the clutch/DMF/tracking/driveshaft and it is now having its AC reinstalled (not its fault) and it also still has a problem with the heated seats where they wont work but being summer I couldnt give a ****e.
As a car generally it has never left me at the side of the road except when an eejit put 30 litres of petrol in the car and it was 200km in before it gave up - flushed it, put some diesel in and away she went.
What I would suggest is check the driveshafts (vibrations etc when driving) and also they seem to have an issue with the AC compressor so check to see its still there.
Apart from that they are not so bad - are you looking at a GDI engine? I think thats what they are called

The GDI isn't supposed to be a great engine - a lot of them have needed decokes after about 60,000 miles. Best avoided imo
